The morning sun bathed the palace in its warm glow, signaling the start of another beautiful day. Taehyung and Jungkook sat in their room, enjoying the peaceful moments that had become their cherished routine. As the alpha sipped his morning tea, Jungkook leaned back on the cushions, cradling his growing belly.
“You’re glowing today,” Taehyung remarked, his voice soft and adoring.
Jungkook chuckled, brushing a hand through his hair. “It’s just the sunlight.”
“No,” Taehyung countered, setting his cup down and moving closer. “It’s you.” His hand rested gently over Jungkook’s, placed atop the bump. “Both of you.”
The tender moment was interrupted by a knock on the door. Taehyung sighed, reluctant to part from the serenity, but he stood to answer. A servant handed him a note, a summons from his parents.
By noon, the couple arrived at the Jeon family estate. The carriage ride had been filled with quiet laughter and Jungkook’s excitement about seeing his parents after so long.
As they stepped out, Mr. and Mrs. Jeon were already waiting. Mrs. Jeon rushed forward, her arms open wide. “My baby! Look at you!”
Jungkook laughed, hugging her tightly. “Mother, you saw me just a few months ago.”
“It’s not the same!” she chided gently. “You’re glowing, and—oh my goodness—this little one!” She placed her hands on Jungkook’s belly with pure adoration.
Taehyung stepped forward, bowing respectfully. “Mother Jeon, Father Jeon.”
Mrs. Jeon’s demeanor shifted in an instant. “No formalities, Taehyung! You’re family now.” She pulled him into a hug, surprising him.
“Your Majesty,” Mr. Jeon greeted, his tone warm but reserved. “Thank you for taking such good care of our son.”
Taehyung nodded solemnly. “It’s my honor, Father Jeon.”
Dinner was a grand affair. Mrs. Jeon had prepared all of Jungkook’s favorite dishes, with an added focus on desserts after hearing of Taehyung’s infamous sweet tooth.
“Try this, Your Majesty,” she insisted, offering a plate of delicately frosted pastries.
Taehyung chuckled but accepted, savoring the treat. “Delicious. I see where Jungkook gets his culinary skills from.”
Mrs. Jeon beamed. “He always loved helping me in the kitchen as a child. Though, he was better at tasting than cooking.”
“Mother!” Jungkook protested, his cheeks pink.
The table erupted in laughter, and even Mr. Jeon couldn’t hide his smile.
After dinner, Jungkook sat with his parents in the garden while Taehyung watched from a distance, giving them privacy. The omega’s laughter rang out as they reminisced about his childhood.
“You were always so stubborn,” Mrs. Jeon said fondly. “But look at you now. A husband, soon to be a parent... It feels like just yesterday you were running through these gardens, hiding from your chores.”
Jungkook laughed, leaning into her embrace. “I miss those days sometimes.”
Mr. Jeon cleared his throat, his expression serious. “Jungkook, you’ve made us proud. Your mother and I... we couldn’t have wished for a better life for you.” His voice faltered slightly, but he continued, “And knowing that you’re loved and cherished—it means everything to us.”
Jungkook reached out, taking his father’s hand. “Thank you. For everything.”
From his place by the balcony, Taehyung watched the scene unfold, his heart swelling with a mix of emotions. He vowed silently to always honor Jungkook’s family and ensure their son never lacked love or security.
Later that evening, as they rested in their room, Jungkook let out a small gasp. Taehyung immediately turned to him, his brows furrowed in concern.
“What’s wrong?”
Jungkook placed a hand on his belly, his eyes wide with wonder. “I... I think the baby just kicked.”
Taehyung’s concern melted into astonishment. “Really?”
Jungkook nodded, grabbing Taehyung’s hand and placing it over the spot. They waited in silence until there it was—a small, unmistakable movement.
Taehyung’s eyes filled with unshed tears as he looked at Jungkook. “That’s our child.”
Jungkook nodded, his own tears slipping down his cheeks. “It feels so real now.”
Taehyung leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to Jungkook’s forehead. “You’re amazing, Jungkook. Both of you are.”
The next morning, the news of the baby’s first kick spread quickly. Mrs. Jeon was in tears, holding Jungkook’s hands tightly.
Mrs. Kim, not one to be outdone, immediately started making plans for celebrations. “We’ll host a feast in their honor! Nothing too extravagant—just family and close friends. And gifts! The baby needs gifts!”
“Not too much,” Taehyung interjected, amused by their enthusiasm.
“Nonsense,” Mrs. Kim replied. “This child deserves the world.”
Taehyung couldn’t argue with that.
As the days turned into weeks, the couple found themselves surrounded by love and support. The nursery became a shared project for the entire family, with Mrs. Jeon sewing curtains and Mrs. Kim selecting toys.
For Taehyung and Jungkook, every kick and movement from their child was a reminder of the life they were building together—a life full of love, laughter, and hope.
Their journey had been filled with trials, but now, as they prepared to welcome their baby into the world, they knew their greatest adventure was just beginning. And they were ready—together.
