The loud banging on the door grew louder, disrupting Shubhra's sleep. "Gosh! Who the hell is this?" she shouted, sitting up.
"It's me, Ava! Jarek!" Jarek yelled from the other side of the door.
"Wait a moment!" Shubhra replied, getting up to open the door.
She found Jarek standing at the gate, breathing heavily, his eyes scanning the area. "Who made you run a thousand miles?" Shubhra spoke in a sarcastic tone.
Jarek's gaze landed on her face, and he shouted, "What the hell is this?"
"What?" Shubhra asked, rubbing her nape.
"Your hair, idiot! It looks like a bird's nest!" Jarek exclaimed, his expression horrified.
"Does it?" Shubhra moved to the mirror and gazed into it. Yeah, her hair did resemble a big animal's fighting arena. "Oh no, I don't think I can sit for hours again!" She flopped back onto the bed.
"It sucks, right?" Jarek mouthed, lying down beside her.
"It does, fratello," Shubhra replied, hiding her eyes with her hands.
"But you wanted to do it, didn't you?" Jarek probed.
Shubhra let out a deep sigh. "I did, but since I came here, I've felt too overwhelmed. I was excited for this wedding, but no matter what, a different kind of nervousness is creeping inside me. I'm already married to him, and I know him and his family – they treat me really well – but still, I'm feeling this agitation."
"It's common, you know!" Vidharth muttered, standing at the doorstep. Both Jarek and Shubhra turned to give him their attention. Shubhra's senses became alert as she felt Vidharth's presence. But before she could speak, Jarek interrupted.
"What are you doing here, Vidharth?" Jarek interrogates.
"She messaged Adwait to check up on her, and he was getting anxious when she didn't answer her phone," Vidharth explained. "He wanted to come himself, but he got restricted, so he had no choice but to ask me for help."
"I'll call him," Shubhra responded.
Vidharth's eyes sparkled with amusement as he gazed at Shubhra. "Who the hell was fighting in your hair?" he asked, thrilled and amused seeing her hair.
Shubhra retorted, "There was an ant who stole an elephant's food and then hid in my hair. The elephant searched my whole head to find the ant."
"Okay, now call your soon-to-be husband, or he'll send a search party for you!" Vidharth teased.
"Jarek, call the hair stylist for me, please!" Shubhra ordered him.
"Okay!" Jarek replied, pulling out his phone to call the stylist while Shubhra went to the window to call Adwait.
