Cezar played with his bacon and eggs at the breakfast table, disappointed that he did not get to see Valentina last night at the ball. But at the same time, he was glad that Valentina and Lucius were fighting again. Good, I now have a chance; he thought to himself and smiled secretively.

“Where is Lucius?” demanded Uncle Julius, who was looking at the empty high chair at the head of the table. Lucius never misses breakfast with his family, even if he did not get along with certain members. Dante was with Vera at her private villa.

“He has been a bit depressed lately, Uncle”, Cezar said smugly. “Allow him some space.” Julius did not like the explanation but returned back to his breakfast. Breakfast was quiet for a few seconds before the servants became excited for some reason that Cezar did not care to know. Lucius’ personal butler immediately entered and handed Julius a note.

Curious, Cezar watched as his uncle unfold the note and read it swiftly. “Lucius, demands a quick meeting at 9”, Julius announced before he stored the note in his pocket. Everyone on the table nodded but Cezar, who had plans to go and comfort Valentina, did not like the idea.

“I have an appointment, Uncle”, he excused. “Do send my regrets to Lu-”

“It is compulsory and he DEMANDS it”, Julius emphasized and when he put it that way, the other Vladonovs knew Lucius meant business.

Valentina woke up on the bed that she was to share with Lucius after their marriage. Light poured through the balcony and the light breeze gave the room an airy feel, much like her own palace. It was as if she was back at home and she smiled at Lucius’ gift. He really went out of his way to make the west wing their sanctuary.

“You’re finally awake, my love.”

Smiling, Valentina turned to the source and found Lucius coming out of the bathroom, dressed with only a towel around his waist. His toned chest was still wet and Valentina couldn’t help but drool at the sight. He looked like a model straight out of a GQ magazine but roughen by the years of training and killing. Sensing that he was being watched, Lucius looked up and smirked at her. Embarrassed, Valentina looked away to give him privacy and tried to find interest in the curtain by the balcony.

Lucius chuckled, which only redden her cheeks. A slight depression to the bed told Valentina that her near-naked fiancée was sitting on the bed, enjoying her discomfort.

“I’m can see that you find my discomfort amusing”, Valentina scolded, which did nothing to stop Lucius from stroking her neckline.

“No…never”, he said in mocked horror before he started stroked her cheek and then proceeded to kiss her neck. She moaned and began to rub up and down his back. After a minute, he said to her neck, “I’ve called for a meeting at 9. I want to announce your Turn.”

“You mean, you want to announce indirectly that I am yours and that you are mine”, Valentina clarified with a smirk. Then she thought about her family and said, “You need to wait…I have to tell father and mother.”

“I sent them a note earlier today and they have organised a meeting at your palace too”, said Lucius and he proceeded back to kissing her neck.

She looked at the clock on top of the fire placed and narrowing her eyes, the clock read 8:15. She pushed Lucius away and quickly got out of bed. “I must get ready! You said the meeting is at 9, right?”

“We have plenty of time”, he nagged, “Come, let’s get back to bed.” He patted the bed but Valentina rolled her eyes and went to retrieve her things. She honestly couldn’t believe that she was about to do the walk of shame and wondered whether there was a secret passageway to Lucius’ garage so she could avoid unwanted eyes.
