After cleaning up the residue of her tears, Valentina put on a tight black short dress and matching heels. Vera soon came back into her chambers in a seductive green dress to tie a black leather mask around Valentina. Definitely not an innocent night for the two women, but Valentina did not care to be safe nor cautious. She wanted to take risks, which she did as she sped through the streets of Bucharest in her red Ferrari 458 with Vera behind her in a yellow Porsche 911. Finally, they arrived at the club and parked their cars at the front entrance.

The bouncers and clubbers waiting outside stared at the luxurious cars and later at the two beautiful women in black masks who stepped out. No one stopped them as they walk right into the club. Vera smirked and winked at one of the bouncer then turned to her friend solemnly, “Valentina, tonight I want you to have fun. Come, the first drink of the night is on me…”

Vera pulled her friend through the crowd of masked clubbers and ordered two tequila shots. After their third shot, Valentina pulled Vera to the dance floor and they swayed to the beat of the music and the command of the DJ. They soon caught the eyes of two males dressed two flashy to be freshmen but too expensively to be commoners. Obviously they were on the hunt for weak and unsuspecting females. Unfortunately, the two females in front of them were not their usual candidates. “Sons of corrupted politicians”, whispered Vera in Italian.

Their eyes tell me that they want us to escort them to their rooms later”, Valentina noted and smirked at Vera’s delight. “Shall we … say…dangle the carrot?

“Well… hello”, greeted one of the males, intoxicated and powdered at the nose. Vera responded with a seductive ‘ciao’ and the women watched as the men become overwhelmed with the desire to do more than just talk.

Lucius watched from his black Mercedes-Benz SLS as Valentina in her black dress and mask got out of the Ferrari and sauntered with Vera into the club. Dante, beside him in the passenger, let out a breath of desire and want. They had already acquired the mask but right now, the view in front of them was too good to ignore. Lucius felt regretful when he spoke inappropriately to Valentina. He should have thought about the consequences and the fact that the wedding night is one aspect of the marriage Valentina wishes to avoid.

He remembers watching from his study as the black Rolls Royce with his fiancée in it drove away. He felt a piece of him slowly departing and was soon shaken out of his reminisce by a door closing.

“I noted you bit her in the cave”, said Dante. “It is not much… but why?”

“So that I’ll know where she is at all times”, replied Lucius silently and then quite unexpectedly, he said, “Come, I’m going to change and go and apologize. I was inappropriate”.  Once they were outside the palace, a red Ferrari and a yellow Porsche drove out and realising it was Valentina and Vera, he followed them. He found it hard catching up to the two speeding women but finally they stopped outside a club Lucius knew well. It had seedy men and desperate women. The restrooms were more of a drug store than the local chemist. Lucius frowned as he realise that Valentina is out to drink away her pain and most definitely, her anger. As soon as the two women were out of sight, Lucius and Dante put on their mask and made a beeline to the club. No one stopped them from entering, obviously, and why would you when the men wore dark Armani suites and towered over the bouncers.

At the top of the stairs, Lucius spotted Valentina and Vera by the bar taking shots. He watched as she licked the soft spot on her hand, drowned down the tequila and sucked on the lime. She could’ve done that at his castle in his bar, which, Lucius thought, was better equipped than the club’s bar. Now officially engaged, how strange it sounds to him, he didn’t think the club was appropriate for his fiancée and got annoyed as two weak humans made their move on her. Dante saw this and told him that he will ‘take care of it’. They continued to watch the women, allowing them to dance without distraction. Vera turned around and winked at them, which shocked Lucius and Dante.

“I don’t think she recognizes us”, suspected Dante. Vera whispered into Valentina’s ear, who turned and also winked and smiled at Lucius. Lucius didn’t know whether to feel shocked at his fiancée’s flirting or impressed at his disguise. Nonetheless, the two vampires made their way to Valentina and Vera. As Dante gently caress Vera’s hips, Lucius held and stroked Valentina’s hips from behind and pulled her into him.

Knowing that she thinks he is a stranger, Lucius asked, “And you are…?”

Valentina smiled and said seductively, “I am the wind and the monsoon. I am the sun and the moon. But for tonight’s course, I am yours”. Lucius was overwhelmed with desire and together they danced and Valentina swayed between his hands. He left no space between him and his fiancée. Looking over to his cousin, who was closely attached to Vera, they grinned and winked at each other. Tonight was something so unexpected and Lucius wished it will last forever. When the song ended, Valentina made a move to step out of his hold but Lucius stopped her. “Let me buy you a drink”.

“Then let me buy yours”.

“Done” Together the four of them made their way towards the bar and Lucius ordered two martinis for Valentina and Vera.

“Two four horsemen for the gentlemen”, ordered Vera. The shot was overwhelming but Lucius drank while watching Valentina sip at her drink. After five more shots, Lucius felt a bit light headed and calm as he stroked Valentina’s hips and occasionally leaned down to whisper lovers’ admirations. His fiancée loosened his tie and the first few buttons of his shirt to stroke his neck. After his last shot, Valentina leaned into him and said, “Well done. You deserve a reward”.

“Your attention all night and kisses are what I desire”, he answered. Smiling, Valentina pulled him towards a back door. Vera followed while dragging the intoxicated Dante, who happily and excitedly acquiesced. Once the door closed, Lucius allowed Valentina to push him up against a wall and expected heavy kisses to his lips and neck. But they didn’t come. Instead, a sharp knife was against his neck while Dante was on his back with Vera on top of him, stake over his heart.

“You didn’t think that we wouldn’t recognise you two, did you now?”
