After a tense day, with his mind occupied with what he found this morning, Draco heads home for the evening set to get some answers. Arriving on the Manor grounds, he uses the side gate with a special key before heading through and up the driveway. Stepping inside, he shuts the door behind him hearing the familiar click of his Mother's heels. "How was school sweetheart" Narcissa asks as she approaches, giving him a peck on the cheek with a soft smile. Hanging up his coat, he shrugs a bit "Good, just like any other day" Draco says as Narcissa grabs her coat from the rack "I'll be home later, the elf's have started some food in the kitchen for you" she says before leaving. Not bothering to ask where she is going, Draco sets down his book bag on the cushioned bench by the door. Unzipping it slowly, he looks around briefly before taking out the cravat he found, still unsure on how to feel about finding it before he heads deeper into the house to find Lucius.
Shuffling through some important documents from the mail, Lucius grumbles to himself before putting them down, just barely noticing Draco as he watches from the edge of the open door. "Draco, is that you? How was school.. I expect your grades are still up to par" he says in a smooth tone as his eyes remain down at his desk riddled with papers. Stepping into the room, Draco keeps calm as he holds the cravat behind his back leisurely "It was an average day, Father.. apart from one particular thing I suppose.." he says, watching his Father's reaction closely as he approaches the front of the desk. Quirking a brow as he sits down behind his desk, Lucius sets the papers aside "And what might that be, hm?" he asks, noticing Draco's stiff posture, eyeing him up and down with a suspicious glare. "What's behind your back.. show me" he demands in a stern tone. Sighing Draco feeling a surge of emotion through him as his gaze becomes less obedient and more stern as he boldly slams the cravat onto the desk "I know it is yours, don't try to deny it.." he grumbles waiting for his Father's response.
Stunned by the sudden slam, Lucius blinks a few times to process what has been placed on his desk top, sneering he lets out a huff. "What is the meaning of such aggression-" he grumbles but Draco interrupts quickly "Don't act foolish, Father, you know exactly what this is, in fact, it is yours and don't try to deny it" he barks, feeling his heart racing in his chest. Quirking a brow in surprise, Lucius's gaze darts down to the cravat discarded on the desk top before speaking "I'll bite.." he murmurs before adjusting his cuffs "Pray tell, how do you know this is mine, my dear son.." he says with a distasteful tone, trying to keep his emotions at bay. Taking a step back, not realizing his demanding attitude would work, Draco clears his throat "It smelled of your cologne.." he says softly as he keeps his eyes trained on every movement Lucius may make.
Letting out a soft sigh under his breath, Lucius hangs his head briefly before speaking "Where did you find this Draco" he asks in a stern but even tone. Gripping his hands into fists at his sides, Draco hesitates "I-" shaking off the uneasy feeling in his gut he spits it out "I found it within Professor Snape's office this morning" feeling his entire body shiver and then tense up, Lucius freezes. Feeling his mind racing a mile a minute, Lucius takes a hard gulp "Impossible, I haven't a clue how something of mine was in his possession but nevertheless, you know better than to rummage in other's dwellings and for that-" cutting him off once more, Draco's emotion's get the better of him. "I know what's going on! You can't hide it from me any longer! The shared glances, the sudden kinship, the way you leave so suddenly and return so late in the past few weeks, it's painfully obvious and I cannot keep it to myself anymore!" he shouts, his words echoing within the large room.
Glaring, Lucius fidgets with one of his rings "Watch yourself young man, you do not speak to me in such a manner.. as for your keen observations.." he grumbles as he comes around the desk, towering over his own son. "The things I do are none of your concern.. do I make myself clear, Draco" Lucius says ominously as he bends down a bit to intimidate Draco further, Lucius's intense gaze boring into his own.Unable to hold eye contact, Draco looks off to the side with a sigh "Yes, Father.." he murmurs in defeat. Standing straight again, Lucius tucks his hands behind him "Very good, you're excused.. he says quietly, watching as Draco leaves the room with his head hung, his stern attitude from moments ago long gone. Waiting patiently as the click of Draco's dress shoes fade away, Lucius turns to the desk his gaze falling onto the cravat. Picking it up, he sighs before gripping it into a fist "Perhaps, this was a mistake.."
