As a few weeks pass by since they have last spoken, Lucius continues to brood, feeling something lingering after seeing Severus break down in such a way before him. Taking some time for himself in the Aviary, Lucius dwells on this unknown feeling as he cares for the owl he's had since he was a young boy. "Oh Erebus, I can't shake this unfamiliar feeling stirring within, it's unsavory that's for certain" he murmurs to the enchanted Stygian owl. His Father enchanted the magical creature a long time ago so it could live beyond its regular life span ensuring it would be Lucius's companion for decades to come, which is why it is still lively and a terrifying as when it was gifted to him. Dusting off his hands before he sits down to sulk, Lucius lets out a sigh watching as Erebus finishes off the snack he gave him, his blackened feather's reminding him of Severus's sleek black hair and the way it moves with his subtle movements. Letting out a sigh as he turns away to gaze out the large window behind him, Lucius ponders. Gazing out at the Manor grounds beyond the window, Lucius thinks back to every little detail that he may have missed. "His eyes.." he mutters to himself, sitting up as he frowns realizing what he missed "Oh Severus, I'm so sorry.." he says under his breath realizing how hurtful he's been. Leaving just as quickly as his realization hit, Lucius is determined to make things right.
Back tracking in the early minutes of Lunch, Draco huffs in frustration"Goyle is going to get it for stashing my book bag away without me noticing" he curses under his breath. Feeling the tiredness creeping in from the long journey back after already walking in the opposite direction, he makes his way to the Potions classroom. Coming to a slow stop at the door, Draco stares perplexed "Huh, I thought he closed his door every lunch to avoid annoying first years" he says to himself before shrugging it off and stepping inside. Looking around for his bag, Draco grumbles under his breath "Where is it? He couldn't have hid it that well-" cutting himself off at a sudden noise, he stands straight. Looking around the room, his eyes fixate on the closed office door, seeing fuzzy silhouettes coming off of the opaque glass on the door. Curious, he ignores his search for the bag momentarily as he approaches the office. Ensuring he isn't heard, Draco takes the final few steps with feather light precision before he is pressed up against the oak.
Hearing muffled sounds of two instinct voices, he waits painterly to see if he can hear any words through the thick door. After a few minutes, he lets out a low sigh, thinking of a way to see what could be going on, he finally caves into the single worse option he has- opening the door. Waiting for the right time, Draco watches the silhouettes through the glass as best as he can before finally doing it. Turning the handle at a painstakingly slow speed, he lets out a huff as the lock clicks gently, not realizing he was holding his breath the entire time. Pushing open the old door, trying to avoid the hinges from creaking, Draco peers through the small sliver he made. Gasping softly at the sight before him, he quickly shuts the door without making any noise. "O-H Merlin.." he stammers out in utter shock knowing he was aware but seeing it shook him to his core. Standing by the door against the wall, he tries to gather himself before he spots his bag. Swiftly walking over to it, Draco heads out of the classroom not knowing what to do now that he's seen what he just saw.
