One True Love

Chapter 8

I tried to call Brett but he's not answering any of my calls. What happened to him? Is he alright? I can't think properly. I need to talk to him to make sure he's okay and to tell him I arrived here. But how will I tell him if he's not answering? After how many times I tried to call, I finally gave up. If he doesn't want to answer, then be that way. But my dissapointment faded when he called back. I almost jumped for joy.

"Brett! Why on Earth didn't you answer my calls?" I asked.

"Sorry Mercy bear, we just arrived in London." He sounded exhausted.

"Me too, can we talk later? I need to rest." I said. It's true, I haven't slept properly a while ago.

"Sure! Call you later!" and I hung up.

When I woke up, I realized I was really in New York. I can see tall buildings as what I can see it from my window, the view I didn't get to see when I was in Georgetown. I received a text message and yes, it was from Brett. He was asking if I'm already awake. I texted him back and not less then 5 minutes, he called.

"Hey, how's New York?" he said. Well, his voice is now okay compared to a while ago.

"Hi! So far, New York is really nice. I didn't get to explore the place yet but I think it's awesome. There's this really tall building and the normal building which reminded me of us." I said as I rubbed my eyes.

"Oh really? So you just admitted I'm taller than you and New York is really cool you know." he said teasingly.

"Hell no, So how's London?" I said excitedly.

"Uhmm. There's this cool red payhone and Big Ben is even bigger in person. I got to ride on this red bus that have chairs on the roof. And there's this ferris wheel that is really big and when your on top you get a better view of London!" he said amusedly.

"Oh, so that's the reason why you didn't answer your phone huh?" I really didn't mean that, I just want to tease him. I miss teasing him and when he gets mad he turns red.

"Of course not. I told you-" he said but I cut him off.

"Yeah, yeah I know. I was just teasing you idiot!" I laughed.

"Oh." He only said that. 

"Hey! You're mad? Dude I was just kidding!" I felt guilty. I shouldn't have teased him.

"I'm not. It's just that I miss Georgetown." his voice sounds like he was about to cry.

"Me too! We should visit there at the same time!"

"At the same time! PROMISE!!!" he said.

"Hey Brett! Keep in touch okay?" I said I don't want our friendship to last because we transferred to different places.

"Of course, update me on what's happening alright?"

"Okay" I answered, I feel like crying but I hold it. I think i won't last a day without him.

"I just remembered, congratulations! You survived a day without me!" he said

"Actually no"

"Oh Mercy bear, I have to go now. Call you next week. Bye! Take care!"

"Bye! You too! "
