I woke up to the sound of my phone. It's a call from someone. Actually, it's from Valerie Stuart. Well, now its a missed call from her. She's my new friend. I met her at the elevator. She's blonde like me but she's more tanner that I am and she have green eyes. I have blue eyes like my mom and Brett. But Brett's are more darker. She's really kind and friendly. And she's the only person who calls me Anne. I don't mind, I actually like it. I've got my first name back in South Carolina and my second name here. My phone rang again.
"Hello!" I answered.
"Hey! Sorry I can't hang out today. I have to watch my brother's tournament. Maybe some other time?" asked Valerie.
Oh right, she was supposed to open my eyes to New York City today.
"Oh that's alright, I guess I'll see you soon." I said.
"Great! Okay gotta go."
"Bye" then our call ended.
I'm going back to sleep. After some time, I get up and do a little stretching. I want to eat so I get out of my room and I smell pancakes.
I went to the kitchen and I saw mom.
"Hey mom!" I said as I sat down on a stool.
"I thought you're going with Valerie today?" asked mom.
"Oh! She called me and she can't." I said.
Mom gave me a plate of three pancakes with honey. I thanked her. I really love pancakes.
" Well, I'm sight-seeing today, would you like to come?" mom asked.
"Sure." I nodded.
NYC is amazing! It's beautiful. There are so many places I can shop. The whole day I went shopping with my mom. She brought me new clothes. And I got to see the subway for the first time. Mom sold her car back in South Carolina, she said she won't need it here in New York. Dad sold his car and bought a new one here. After hanging out with mom, we went back home to get some rest. We walked the whole day and explore New York. As I reached home, I immediately went to my room and wrote the things I did today so that by the time Brett will call again. I can tell him what I have experienced. Wow, I survived a day without him. But still I miss him a lot as if we never saw each other for ten years. Somebody knocked my door. It was nanny Eva, she brought the paper bags that I left in the living room. Well, she always treats me like a five year old baby even if I am already eighteen years old. Eighteen, I just remembered I'm going to New York University on October. Great, I still have two months to relax and adjust. This day was tiring yet fun. It's worth it.
