I stepped out of the pool. That's enough of swimming for me today. The building we stayed in, has a pool at the top floor. Mom and I come here every Saturday morning. I sat on a chair where my things were located. Mom went back to our condo a while ago. I chose to stay here. I love swimming. My phone rang. It was an unknown number. I answered it anyways.
"Hello!" I answered.
"Mercy?" said the voice on the other end. I recognize that voice.
"Brett?" I screeched.
"Yeah" he said
"Your number changed."
"Yeah, I lost my phone"
" Were you the one who called me when I yelled cheesecake?" I asked
" I know nothing about that. I lost it a month ago. I just realize my mom had your number on her phone." he said.
" THANK GOD!" I sighed in relief. I left my towel by the pool so I walk over to grab it,
" So, what's new?"
" Great! I haven't told you about my new friends yet." I told him while walking.
Then I suddenly slipped and fell. I didn't fall backward, but rather forward. And my phone fell on the pool. I quickly jumped in to get it. But it's helpless. My phone's broken. It's alright I can get a new one. But Brett, oh I have his number. Oh shit, he has a new one. Oh I may never be able to talk to Brett again. I feel like crying. Don't cry, there's still hope right?
A girl passed behind me, she was on the phone and talking about computer stuff. Oh right computer stuff. COMPUTER! INTERNET! There's still hope!
