One True Love

Chapter 1

I thought transferring to another place would be hard, adjusting to a new environment, no friends, all new to you. But all of this changed when I met my best friend Brett. I remember we met in an accident, yes an accident. When my parents were arranging our stuff to our new house, I decided to walk around, discover new things. Well, there was a park nearby. I saw a balloon and ran towards it. I didn't notice I was crossing the road and that there was a car passing by and there, I met Brett.

So, I'm sure all of you are thinking he saved me right? Well, you're wrong. He was just standing there at the side looking at me almost get hit by the car. I went to the bench and cried, I didn't know what to feel since I was six years old then. I was completely shocked.

"Hey! Are you okay?" he asked as he sat down beside me.

"What do you think so?" I said while sobbing.

"I think you're not." He went away.

I was pissed because he just asked me if I was okay or not. Was he scared of my face? Do I look like a monster? I didn't notice him come back to the place where I was sitting.

"Hey, stop crying! Eat this, it's my favorite!" he smiled as he gave me a scoop of Cookies-and-Cream flavored ice cream.

"Th-a-n-k-s." as I reached for it and ate it.

As I finished eating, I saw my mom and dad coming.

"Honey! Let's go back now!" my mom told me as she reached for my hand

"Okay mommy. I have to go now-" I stopped because I didn't know his name yet.

"Brett" he said. Wow! He can read my mind.

"Yeah, Brett. Bye!"

We walked going back to our house when I realized I didn't tell him my name. I turned around mbut I couldn't see his face anymore.
