Faina' pov

We are all going to this stupid dinner. Ulyana wanted to come and I obviously couldn't let her go alone, I don't trust anyone in that house, especially Vladimir. Mama wanted to come too, only because she wanted to see her sons, it seems sixteen years is a really long time for a separation between a mother and her kids. After this dinner everyone will return to their normal lives, we are going back to Spain and Vladimir and the rest of the Novikovs can go to hell.

We found the table was already set and everyone had taken their seats except for us and Vladimir. He probably wants to make some grand entrance, attention seeker. The conversations stopped when we entered the room, I think they were more surprised than irritated. Nikolai's eyes wetted as he looked at Mama and Ivan had a warm smile. Valentino was grumpy as always, Luca was just eating his life away, he couldn't even wait for everyone to be seated.

" I am glad you all made it. Let's all settle down, have a peaceful dinner and we can discuss pending matters afterwards." Vladimir said as he walked in, wearing a three piece suit, formal as always. We sat down, it's too early for drama, I don't have the energy for it, all I'm thinking about now is food.

" Where have you been for sixteen years Anastasia ? What? You  just woke up and decided to abandon not one but four sons? How kind of you to decide to be present in their lives." Valentino said pointing his fingers to Ulyana and I. He is being really petty now.

"I was held hostage by Felipe for six years until a friend rescued us. I decided to take Ulyana and Faina to Spain with me because I knew I was not needed here,. You all had a mother by then. You didn't really need me and I would have just ruined the beautiful life all of you had built." Mama stated In a leveled tone. I felt so proud of her for not getting emotional in front of them. She couldn't afford to appear weak.

" What do you mean six years? The Mexican mafia kept you alive as their prisoner?" Vladimir asked showing curiosity and concern. Why did this sound like news to him. He knows this very well.

" Don't play dumb Vladimir. Where else did you think she was, on vacation? You know what I can't with you, why are you putting up this pretence? First  you kick us out like dogs, apologise and then you invite us to dinner and now you act like you are concerned about what happened to us in all these years."

"Mama used to tell us every night that, Daddy will find us, my little ones. I know he will. He'll leave no stone unturned, and when he does, we'll be free. We'll be happy with your brothers and father. We will be one big happy family, just like we were always meant to be. You never came because you didn't care. She would tell us that for years, until she stopped. "Six years passed, and Daddy never found us." My eyes bore into Vladimirs, accusations and hurt etched on my face. I got a grip on myself and put a straight face on.

"I remember it all. I have a photographic memory. I remember the tears that fell from Mama's eyes when she saw the magazine article with your wedding picture on it. The moment you found out that my mother was kidnapped you saw it as an opportunity. I see it clearly, you couldn't rescue your wife and kids because you were too busy in between her thighs."I said  as I mentioned his relationship with Klara I was simply repulsed by him.

"That is no way to talk to your father, young girl. I do not know what you are talking about. Why would I have been busy looking for Anastasia when I knew she was dead, it's the whole reason we decided to move on." Vladimir replied, he emphasised every word. I don't even know what he is talking about now.

" Papa and Ramon had tracked Mama and they found her. The building she was in exploded before they could enter and save her." Nikolai explained.

" You mean to tell me that you believed she was dead even though you never saw her inside of the building. The tracker could have been planted there, how were you so convinced it was Mama. How dumb can you people be?" I commented. They are all a bunch of fools. There was no concrete evidence of Mama's death, they probably believed what they wanted too.

" We all thought Ana had died, we had no idea she was even pregnant at that time. Things turned out the way they are and we didn't have much control over it. I do not want to not have control of the situation anymore. I want.... I would like for Ulyana and Faina to come live in this house with me. I have missed sixteen years of their lives. I deserve a chance. One year is all I ask for, to get to know them and for them to get to know me. If they still want nothing to do with me I will let them have their way." Vladimir sent the request to Mama's direction. Ulyana and I weren't even consulted about this even though the whole matter is about us, we are the ones who may possibly live with this asshole.

" For once I agree with you Papa. Give us a chance, let us try to be a family." Nikolai added.

" You too Mama. We missed you so much in all these years. I want us to rekindle our relationship." Ivan said as he extended his hand to touch Mama's hand, who just smiled. I could see she was happy that her sons want her in their lives.

"I need to see you in my office, there are a few things we need to iron out." Vladimir shouts, loud enough for everyone to hear. Oh brother, private meetings already?
Ulyana and I looked at each other and I nodded my head to let her know that we can go.

" Okay, after you Pa-Vladimir," Ulyana replies. I would have sworn she was about to call him Papa, at least someone's excited about this new arrangement. As Ulyana and I stood up, Vladimir stopped us.

" No, no not you girls. I want to speak with Anastasia. In private." Vladimir clears the misunderstanding.

" I don't think that there is any need for that. You can speak freely here, I mean the decisions will also affect us too."Klara, the lady of the house, said with pleading eyes. What's up with her? It's not like Vladamir is going to ask Mama to get back together with him. She should calm her tits.

Vladimir stood from his seat, walked to the exit and stopped. I assume he realised Mama wasn't walking behind him. After what felt like a millennium of an awkward silence the sound of Mama's clicking heels filled the room as they both walked out.
