Roman/Mikhail's pov

And.... Vladimir Novikov took his sixteen year old daughter to a bar.

Faina's eyes widened in surprise as she stepped out of the car and took in their surroundings. It seems she recognised the place, that witch has probably visited it a million times before.

"You actually brought me to a bar?" she asked, her voice was incredulous.

" You see I'm not so bad after all." Vladimir shrugged as he said. Vladimir took Faina's hand and walked in, I was left dumbstruck. That's it, he has lost his marbles

Faina rolled her eyes, a mixture of amusement, on her face. She should cherish this moment because Christmas comes once a year, Vladimir will hopefully be back to his senses by tomorrow.

I found them already seated onto the stools. The bartender was now attending to them.

" I will have a beer and a soda." Vladimir shouted and the bartender nodded.

Faina laughed, shaking her head. "You're buying me a soda, Not a beer. Vladimir I knew this was all too good to be true!!" Vladimir grinned.

As the night wore on, Vladimir's laughter grew louder and his words slurred together. Faina and I exchanged amused glances, knowing Vladimir had reached his limit.

"Vladimir Today, was fuckin amazing. We should really do this more often." Faina squirms. Well at least she is not being bitter or petty today. I couldn't help but laught at that comment, she was looking forward to killing more people with her father.

"Time to get him home," she said, nodding towards Vladimir, who was now stumbling around.

Faina and I carefully helped Vladimir out of the bar, his arms draped over their shoulders. We both staggered towards the car, Vladimir's legs wobbling beneath me.

Once we reached the car, we managed to bundle Vladimir into the backseat. Faina climbed beside him, holding him upright, while I took the wheel.

" It's late Mikhail. There is no way we will get accommodation. I think we should just go to my mother's house, I still have the key." Faina suggested.

" No." I answered almost immediately. It was a bad idea. We can't have Anastasia and Vladimir under the same roof, that too for an entire night.

" Why? It's not a big deal, it's only just one night and we will leave in the morning. Plus my mom is probably not there anyways." She insisted.

" You are lying to me. Your mother is going to be there and you know that very well. Why are you so keen on doing this, what's your end game?" I say because I know she has ultirior motives.

"I'm not scheming or anything. Vladimir wants the both of us to get to know each other so this is me getting to know him. Vladimir is quite closed off, no one ever knows what is going on in that big head of his, except maybe you. I see how he avoids being in the same room as her. I intend on finding out the real reason, whether it's guilt, regret, or something stronger, love." Faina says.

" Kids shouldn't meddle in adult affairs. I think you should be putting your energy and brains elsewhere for example school." I say trying to talk her out of this.

" I'm not a kid Mikhail and don't be a bore. Just drive us to my mom's place. There is no need to overthink this." She murmured.

" In fact I order you to take us. Or won't you take my orders?" She continued but this time with a stern face and a cold tone. And there she is folks, the real Faina with an iron fist.

" As you wish." I stated. I don't want to fight with her today.

The drive to Anastasia's house was a short one. When we arrived, Faina and I carefully extracted Vladimir from the car and half-carried him to the front door. We were met by Anastasia who was shocked to see us, especially Vladimir here. Maybe we should have called before coming here.

"What are you guys doing here? And completely drunk I see." Anastasia commented..

" Mama it's a long story but just know that I was helping Vladimir out and we were here on important business." Faina briefly explained.

" Important business you say, okay. It's good to see you two finally getting along. You can put him in the guest room at the far right corner" Anastasia said with a graceful smile.

Anastasia moved aside so we could pass and we took the elevator and went to put him down. Vladamir's phone started ringing and I answered it.

Oh Vladimir thank god you answered your phone. I was getting really worried. I really don't like how we left things this morning....

Um, Mam, this is Roman. Vladimir is asleep at the moment, he may have had too many glasses to drink but don't you worry. He is safe and sound....at a hotel.

Thank you Roman, I guess I'll call him tomorrow. Goodbye.

Phone convo ended

" At the hotel huh?" The witch asks.

" Don't be nosy. What was I supposed to say, Mam your husband is drunk and he is spending the night at his first wife's house?" I say sarcastically. Nothing about the truth would have sounded right to Klara.

" So this is what you two do, always covering up for each other and having each other's back?" She asked.

"It is indeed what we do for each other. You said it yourself, I am more than just a mindless drone." I answered.
