"Alright, my work here is done," Win said, closing the file.

"Now get out," I muttered, standing up from my chair.

"Whoa, man, what's with the rush today?" Win asked, getting up as well.

I ignored him as we both walked out of the meeting room.

"Don't come here again," I said coldly, not bothering to look at him. "If you have work with me, meet me in my office. No need to come here."

I stopped in my tracks and glanced back at him. "And one more thing — make an appointment. This isn't a place for casual drop-ins." With that, I walked away towards my room.

It was almost ten, and Pete was probably still sleeping. I glanced at my wristwatch as I reached the door. When I opened it, my gaze landed on him, curled up in bed. My stern expression softened into a small smile.

But as I approached the bed, my smile faded.

His position was strange — his left hand hung off the edge of the bed, and his body lay at an odd angle. Something felt wrong. That’s when I noticed it.

White foam. It was coming from his mouth.

"Pete!" I rushed to him, heart pounding in my chest. I knelt by his side, tapping his cheek. "Hey, Pete! Wake up!" I shook him gently but got no response. His skin was ice cold. My chest tightened in panic.

"No... No, no, no!" My voice grew louder with every word. I ran to the door and yelled, "Nop! Get in here! NOW!"

Within seconds, Nop burst into the room, eyes wide. "What happened, Khun Vegas?"

"CALL A DOCTOR! FAST!" I barked, rushing back to Pete. I carefully lifted his head onto my lap, running my fingers through his hair. His face was pale, lifeless. "Pete, baby, please open your eyes. Come on," I pleaded, my voice breaking.

"Khun Vegas, Dr. Top is on his way," Nop said, breathing heavily.

"TELL HIM TO COME FASTER!" I shouted, desperation taking over.

"Hia, what's going on?! Why are you screaming this early in the morning? It's Sunday, for God’s sake—" Macau's voice stopped abruptly when he stepped into the room.

"Phi—!" Macau gasped, eyes wide with horror. He rushed to the bed, dropping to his knees. "What happened to Phi?! Why is there foam coming out of his mouth?!" His voice cracked, fear clear in his tone.

Before I could answer, Nop rushed back in. "Doctor's here!"

Dr. Top moved with precision, wasting no time. He checked Pete’s pulse, eyes sharp and focused. After a few tense moments, he looked at me grimly. "Khun Vegas, we need to get him to the hospital immediately. This is serious."

"What—what's wrong with him?!" Macau's voice shook with panic, his gaze darting between Dr. Top and me. "What happened to Phi? Why is he like this?!"

Dr. Top’s next words hit me like a bullet. "Poison. He’s been poisoned."

My mind went blank. Poison? Who could have done this? When I left him, he was perfectly fine. He was fine.

"Khun Vegas, we don’t have time!" Dr. Top's urgent tone snapped me back to reality. "We need to get him to the hospital now. The poison is spreading fast through his body. If we wait any longer—"

"I’m not waiting!" I scooped Pete into my arms, holding him close to my chest as I hurried towards the door. His body felt so light, so fragile.

"Get the car ready, Nop!" I yelled, heart racing.
