I made my way through the forest
listening to the silent rustle of the trees
Pausing at my usual spot the weather had been getting warmer lately.
Two weeks have passed father has gone on another business trip Gilliu and Mayron have been busier than ever with swordsmanship and playing with Tia.
While I- I have reached the most difficult part of my history lessons... I sighed sitting down placing the purple covered book on my lap.
Everywhere I went people talked about Tia. Grandfather asked me what I thought about Tia I just smiled and said she's a good big sister, sister Larane hangs out with Tia more often then me.
I frowned then remembered what Aunt Ronnece told me.
'That's right I shouldn't be worrying about this stuff who cares let's just read and understand this subject some more then- then I'll go see mother!' I thought with a huff opening the book.
History was a crucial thing to learn knowing history knowing ranks knowing people by names there achievements and how they changed the world in many ways. Like how Lombardy came to be... or the other noble families and..
Magic
There were five sections among the people
The commoners and poor
The Rich but not that rich like Barons and countesses
The wealthy Nobles to be exact
And the royal family ruling them allThe fifth sections being those who had a special power
like swords masters who could use Aura, Priests and Priestess could use divine power and Mages could use magic.
The problem was swords master weren't as rare as divine power and Magic no but they were still considered rare.
While people with divine power usually get passed down onto certain families like the Ashford's they had a rank of countess not as rich as the noble's but wealthy amount a family with the strongest Divine power that ran the temples orphanages and churches holding many sacred objects passed down for generations. Any child with divine power instantly becomes part of the church.
But they were not forbidden from wandering around and taking breaks or marriage you could say those children were sponsored. In fact Mother says her mother was from the Sussew family a family that has one decadent capable to be a saint- Grandmother
But she lost her divine power due to a strong illness and she passed not long after Uncle Galahan was born of course her divine power hadn't been passed down to any of her children they had all taken the test so there was no way to carry on the legacy of the saint.
As for Mages they had it a little harsher. Any person able to use magic went straight to the magic tower apparently Fathers Father was the leader of the magic tower and he married grandmother who had divine power which was very weak Fathers mother was apparently a countess a very weak one to the point father spoke I'll of her but grandmother and grandfather were still alive I hadn't met them yet maybe one day they said they'd come to my eighth birthday party.
Gilliu and Mayron hadn't inherited any magical powers like father I'm guessing they hope I have somehow. I know I won't though or I would have had some signs by now plus I hope I don't I don't want to be trapped in the magic tower for most of my life well apparently any nobles with that kind of power won't need to stay in the magic tower but they won't be able to use magic in public the penalty for doing so will be being trapped in the magic tower for a long while.
But there weren't many mages around and it was extremely unlikely for me to inherit there powers since father nor mother had.
I sighed flipping through the book it had everything I already knew.
'Business class starts in a few hours I better start heading there'
Standing up I sighed my eighth birthday was two weeks from now grandfathers and grandmother will be attending apparently a priest will be attending along with a mage and I'll have to take a test to see if I have any divine or magical powers.
Business class was long and boring.
I got up to leave only for sister Larane to wave me over to her and Tia who were playing with each others hair.
I walked over "I was telling Tia that she looks god in red what do you think?" Larane asked I looked at Tia two red bows were placed neatly in her hair."Wow red really looks a good on you Cousin Tia!" I exclaimed "really? I think it would suit you better though" Tia pointed out with a smile "Hm? I like to wear red as well but it suits Tia a lot cousin Tia looks good in anything!" I exclaimed it was true Tia looked good in what ever she wore maybe it was her green eye's I didn't know.
"Really?" Cousin Tia said wide eyed "yes! Even ask big sister Larane!" I huffed out Larane smiled "it's true"
Tia smiled "Larane also looks good in white"I looked at big sister Larane her soft demure putting me at ease instantly "sister Larane's like an angle" I nodded in agreement "wh-what an angel no-" Sister Larane said taken aback "it's true!" I exclaimed "you two are both to much" she huffed I smiled and laughed.
Tia got up with Larane "Come on Rossetti Tia why don't we head to the garden and make flower crowns?" Larane asked I nodded Tia seemed to be about to reply when teacher Cleverine came out in nowhere asking Tia if we were going to our rooms.
Tia smiled "yes- since lessons are finished and all"
I looked at her questioningly "then I'll escort you" Teacher Cleverine suddenly said.
"What why!?" Tia burst out making me jump at her sudden outburst teacher Cleverine looked taken aback for a second "I had a scheduled meeting with Sir Galahan I was merely wondering if you'd like to come along my lady.."
Tia looked a bit surprised before saying "O-Oh! I'd love to come!"
I looked at sister Larane who smiled and chuckled lightly at sister Tia's outburst she was so unpredictable "Then we'll be going on ahead if you want to join us later Tia" Larane smiled holding my hand as we headed to the garden.
"The Lilly's are blooming-" Larane was saying but I was lost in thought Tia seemed nice maybe I should ask her to play with me one day. I wonder why she was so shocked?
Sighing I shook my head "Rossetti are you ok?" Larane asked "y-yea just wondering about my birthday did sister Larane take a magic test?" I asked Larane looked at me confused then she seemed to realise "no not really since father and mother have no traces of magic and mothers parents don't hold any magic or divine powers" Larane shook her head "plus fathers mother's powers were growing dim and weaker by every day it's unlikely it would be passed down onto her grandchildren since non of her children did have any divine powers"
I nodded "your right"
Larane smiled "but don't worry Grandfather won't let anything happen to you even if you do get magic or divine powers"
I smiled at that "your right!"
We played in the garden for a while.
