It didn't make sense.

Nothing made sense!

Even the priestess was confused! She said she was sure the girl was fine some how Divine power infusion made what ever sickness she had worse and I can tell you that much the mana infusion was the exact same!

The girl had mentioned something about a cat.

Her mother got so scared she thought her daughter was hallucinating!

Not to mention the fact if there was a crack in her mana she would be dead or suffering greatly by now she wouldn't have gotten through the night so it couldn't be that!

I ran my hands through my hair in frustration I had told William to search for any books about broken mana or anything that matched my nieces symptoms but since everyone was useless I decided to search the Lombardy library for anything related.

I flipped through the old book about mana the cover was a vintage brown mixed with gold specks it went on and on about how mana cracks and over leaked mana was fatal and how usually they'd try to find someone who could stop that mana to keep the person alive for a day or two i already new all that!

"...Mr? Are you alright I could hear you talking to yourself-"

A young girl stepped out from behind one off the bookshelf's

It took me a few seconds to realise who this kids was.

She had pale skin wavy copper brown hair and bright green eye's.

This kid  had showed up at My nieces birthday if I remember correctly the illegitimate child of Gallahan Lombardy praised by the head of the family himself for her smartness.

"Yes I'm fine" i grumbled and nodded she had her arms wrapped around a large book with a red front cover.

'History of Prana & mana'

Cheap name for a book. But why would a kid be reading about such?

She caught me staring at the book and smiled widely  "I know Rossetti was having trouble with her mana and Larane was worried sick everyone is so I thought I could do some reading about what's wrong and I found this old book hidden at the back so I thought it might have something useful"

The kid ranted on

"can I take a look?" I asked she looked at me for a bit and smiled "sure! Especially if it helps Rossetti"

I took the book from the kids hands flipping through it.

I paused at a specific page.

What happens when someone has both Prana and mana

Priests/ priestess with Divine power (Prana) and Mages with (Mana) were prevented from marriage

Since any child born with both Prana and Mana are at a high risk of dying at birth the two powers fight against each other and since there is no way to balance it the child suffers greatly and dies a week after birth usually.

Not all children will have both powers some will only have one but on very rare occasions a child is born with both and only few children have ever survive.

The first child born with both Prana and Mana before magic was well known

The story of the fake Saintess Silas after showing a large source of divine power and being able to see and summon divine creatures and spirits. One day on the saintess's coming of age she went on a rampage using Magic.

She was accused of being a fake and a black witch and later on executed.

Another person named after the Greek devil Hades for his demon blood red eyes and black hair along his specialty with dark magic his real name being Harounds his full name unknown.

He suffered from a great illness when he turned thirteen announced terminally Ill no divine magic nor magic itself where helping in fact it was making it worse.

A cure was found when he turned fourteen when they figured the real cause being his deceased mother had Prana without knowing herself it was very weak yet it still caused her son a lot of pain.

The cure being a magic stone wich absorbed mana leaving the weaker Prana to have a balance.

Hades later died at twenty five burned along with the old magic tower when he tried to save one of his allies.

There is not a lot of information on what exactly happened but it is known the ban of anyone with Prana and mana from marriage was made after three more incidents.

The ban was later forgotten in the history books of the fallen Thero empire.

I stared at the chapter re reading it over and over there were five people in total who ever had this problem it was that rare...

Could it be?

I looked at the kid who had been standing there a minute ago but was long gone!

I grabbed my magic stone calling my lieutenant  "Harry!!! Get me a magic stone that absorbs Mana! And deliver it to the Lombardy mansion NOW!"
