Aayansh's POV~
I felt her breath on my ear, soft but full of intent. The cold steel of the gun pressed against my chest, her fingers gripping it with determination, but I wasn’t worried.
Her lips brushed my ear, a whisper so soft. "Marry me," she said, with something darker.
My fingers grazed the cold metal of the gun, my touch light, almost teasing as I moved to caress her wrist, feeling the pulse of her skin under my fingertips. She was trembling, not from fear, but from something else.
"You think this was my plan all along?" My voice dropped, smooth and deliberate, taunting.
She was a piece I wanted to keep close, to break, to bend to my will.
The moment she stepped into the mansion to get the gun, I knew something was brewing in her mind. She thought I wouldn't know, that she could slip by unnoticed with whatever scheme she was planning.
Her jaw clenched, and for a split second, I saw the woman I had been waiting for all along.
Her lips parted, and I could see the words form in her mind before they even left her mouth.
“Clarify”I chuckled darkly, my hands never leaving her wrist, though I could feel the slight tremor in her skin. "What if I don't marry you?"
She was angry, defiant, but beneath it all, a sense of desperation, of needing me. She couldn’t hide it. Not from me.
"I dare you," She whispered.
I didn’t flinch. Instead, I stepped even closer, our bodies nearly touching now.
"Go ahead," I murmured. "Pull the trigger”
Her chest rose and fell with quickened breaths, and for a moment, I thought she might actually do it. But then, the gun lowered just a fraction.
And that’s when I knew: I had her right where I wanted her.
She knew as much as I did that there was no escape from this.
I watched her closely, her breath shaky as she processed my words. “You know, Kriti, it was a contract marriage," I continued, my voice low but clear.
"Just because she had the credentials to my data, nothing more. But now, when you have messed up everything”
Her lips parted, but no words came.
"You’re angry, and I get that," I said, softer now, as I moved closer, my hand grazing her wrist.
"So am I not important?" She questioned, her eyes fluttered, betraying the uncertainty she tried so hard to hide.
