How do you want it styled?" the makeup artist asked her. "Uhhhhhh, surprise me I guess." Aru said, unsure of what she actually wanted. "Do you want to be surprised for the makeup too?"
"Yeah, sure."
Aiden's POV
The getting ready part didn't take that long. He came an hour and a half earlier for dress rehearsal one last time and getting ready. He was a second to last performer, which meant almost but not quite and that everyone was just gonna be waiting for Aru to finish off, which was perfect for him.
"Aiden! Get on the stage for your last rehearsal!" someone called out.
"Huh? What? I zoned out, sorry."
"I said, get on the stage now! They've called your name twice!"
The voice was coming from behind him. Oh my god he was hallucinating. There were ghosts. The stage was haunted. He whirled around to see Aru crossing her arms angrily.
"What are you doing? Don't just stand there!"
He just stood there, awestruck. She looked beautiful.
In a platonic way, his brain added.
"Don't just stare, how do I look?"
"You look..."
Don't say it.
"Fine."
Amazing, his mind corrected.
"You really need to learn how to be more honest," Aru said, rolling her eyes, but he still noticed how her shoulders dropped and her facial expression fell slightly. "That wasn't believable in the slightest. Anyways, go! Now!"
Aru's POV
Aru looked in the mirror, plucking at the silver gems on her midnight blue dress that just would not come off (Nikita somehow had known that she'd want to fidget with them and said, quote, 'It shouldn't interfere with the integrity of the dress!') and turning around in disbelief. Never in her twenty five years had she thought she looked so good. And fancy.
The dress looked like a night sky. That was the easiest way to put it. The fabric was satin and flowed around her like a river, with silver gems intricately attached all the way to the bottom. The dress's neckline went all the way up to her neck, with separate blue see through sleeves going from her mid upper arm to her wrists. Her shoes were glittery silver low heels, with extra cushioning (because why not). Her hair was meticulously curled with silver glitter sprayed sparingly on it.
Everything was perfect.
*an hour later*
"Hi, I'm with ABC news, do you mind if I can ask you a couple questions?" a woman with short brunette hair came up and asked her amidst the red carpet.
"Yes, of course!" she responded, her heart beating through her chest."So. this is your first award show performance, correct? Do you have any mixed emotions about that?"
"Well obviously! My music means the world to me and to be able to share that is so surreal to me! But I'm also so nervous! Even throughout rehearsal I was so scared, there are all these celebrities that I've always loved here today and knowing that they're all in one place and going to be hearing me sing my music is completely nerve wracking." she said, breathing a sigh of relief. Nobody could twist that into something about Logan.
