"You like Johnny?" He asked.
"Leo, i think I love him." I replied. It was Monday afternoon, we started school tomorrow so several of us decided to meet up. "You love him?" He repeated as he sat down on a bench by the gate in the park.
"Yes." I sat down beside him and looked at him. "You okay?"
"Completely fine... In fact better than fine! You two are pretty cute." He chuckled and pulled me into him playfully. It seemed recently, leo and i hadn't been meeting up or talking as much because of Johnny and I and i felt bad. leo and I had been best friends for a long, long time and we'd always been so close but now, it felt like we were drifting apart. "You have hardly known him for three weeks blake. I mean, who cares but-"
"I dont care, i still think im falling for him."
Today leo was wearing a grey shirt, he wore it often, a pair of black jeans and a hoodie that seemed to be extremely comfy judging by the lack of times he takes it off. He seemed to be the person who knew most about Johnny besides his family, as they grew up together - in the same village and the same school. They still spent a lot of their time together as their families were friends.
"You know, Blake, Johnny hasn't had feelings for anyone for a long time - i dont even know if he has felt this strongly about anyone ever before," he started, "this is special and kind of strange for him. I just want you to know that. And i always thought that he wasn't good around girls and i mean, this is working for you right? I mean it seems it is, so that's good but-"
"Dont worry Leo." I said before shuffling closer to him, "I adore him."
"He really does like you Blake."
"Thats great, I'm so lucky." I whispered down at my lap and smiled to myself.
"He's the lucky one." Leo said quietly and stood up, "I think it's time for me to go." He smiled as he looked at his watch.
"You only got here an hour ago!" I moaned and stood up after him, slouching as I did so. I could tell something was up, as he usually spends at least four hours out with me and the others. One hour? "My mum wants me homes early, sorry." He said and wandered off after waving unenthusiastically.
"Blake!" I heard a shout from the other side of the park, "hey!" I looked over and squinted my eyes, there was Johnny standing still, waving both of his arms over his head looking like a complete idiot. "Johnny come here!" I screamed and he ran over, in fact we ran up to each other; as we became close, he held out his arms and i leaped into them. My legs wrapped around his waist. "Now that was a good one." He laughed and released me, although me not exactly wanting to let go. "I missed you, i saw you two days ago but i missed you." I panted, tired from running so rapidly towards him. "Ditto." He said.
"You know, leo was acting odd earlier-"
"Its fine, dont bother talking to him." He butted in, suspiciously.

That evening, after arriving home, i thought to myself. I thought about how earlier, leo had been acting differently; it was most likely no big deal and nothing to worry about at all, however i couldn't help but worry about a friend. He has that type of personality where he doesn't really care what he does, he has so many friends that if he loses one it wouldn't make a difference. However, earlier, he was acting abnormally. He wasn't his usual upfront self. "Leo." I said as he picked up almost immediately after I decide to call him, "are you okay? Tell me the truth."
"Yes."
"What happened earlier?"
"I needed to go. I felt uncomfortable."
"Uncomfortable about what?" I asked. Then There was silence, he didn't reply. There was a loud beep and Yes, he hung up on me. I bit my lip and placed my phone on the table beside my bed, oh. I needed to get over it, he could surely deal with whatever was on his mind.
My mum and dad called me down for a late dinner at 8 o'clock, and after a long day full of walking i was pretty tired out. Days out with my friends like today were usually full of exercise as there is a decent distance between the park and the town and those are, quite unconveniently, the locations where we spend most of our time in. There was a variation... Out with the girls? = shopping and talking non-stop
Out with boys as well? = watching them eat and talking about some random shit that usually only makes sense to the male gender.
"How was your day honey?" My mum asked. She was clearly in her good mood tonight, her emotions seemed to be like a rollercoaster; either moody or lovely and extra jolly! Either way it was irritating. "Fine, yeah, thanks mum." I replied with a smile and tucked into this alright-looking lasagne.
"Were you with boys?" My dad jokily asked. "I mean not Johnny of course?" He laughed and then decided to pull a fake serious expression. He likes to pretend to be stern sometimes - although he is frankly the polar opposite to that as he couldn't harm a hair on someone's head. He knew I was with johnny. He knew i had been with johnny almost every alternative day and the spare time i wasn't with him i was somehow contacting him or talking about him. Okay maybe not. But close. "What about leo, he's adorable!" My mum remarks, leaning over the lasagne and placing her hand on mine.
"He is a a close friend, mum."
"Yeah i mean johnny is hotter mum!" My dad mocked me, winking throughout.

Before falling asleep that night I settled to watching a movie, a sad one. sometimes i just feel in the mood to watch depressing shit, but this one brought back feelings from the past. I pulled up the sleeves of my nightie and stared at my clean wrists.
ring ring
My phone rang violently, all of a sudden, The table vibrated. So I picked it up, i was very tired at this point. "Hello?"
"Hey, its leo and sorry for hanging up on you. I need to talk to you"
