Part 9 Hurt

Oh right, I haven't yold you about this. The reason why I resigned is because I want to keep more distance from MeiLing. I don't want her to have head aches again. I applied for another job in a Korean BBQ restaurant. I hope it will distract me a little from having sad thoughts.

As I come to think of it. I have to say everything to her, about the accident and that I love her. And that I'm doing this all because of her. I just have to find the right moment and the right place to say it to her.

As I walked home, opened the door and greeted my mother afterwards, my mother approached me and said:

"Luhan, let's talk", she said with a gentle smile"

"What's wrong mother?", I asked confused

"First let sit down", she said as she dragged me alone and seated on the couch

"Mother, wh-", she interrupted me

"Luhan, why did you resign?", she asked as I looked down, not giving her an answer.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I don't want you to be worried. How did you know it?", I asked

"Luhan, you're only making me worried when you're doing things behind my back and MeiLing's mother called me and told me you resigned. She was really worried so I just said that you want to rest a little, but what is the real reason?", she asked looking worried. 

"Mom", I started as my eyes got teary

"Tell me honey"

"Why does I have to sacrifice my love to make that someone happy?", I said as I looked down

"What do you mean?, she said as she placed her hand behind my back

"Mom, I love her so much that it just hurts me", I said embracing her

"Luhan, I understand that you want to be happy when that someone you love is happy, but can you bear the pain?", she asked as she comforted me.

I let go of her and wiped my tears off.

I sniffed and said: "Mom, ís keeping distance the right choice?"

"Honey, if you don't tell me what's going on then how can I help you?"

She's right, I have to let it out, at least I have to tell her about it.

"Mom, do you remember MeiLing?"

"Yes of course, she used to be your best friend right? I always treated her like my own daughter. I wonder how she is", she said as she let out a smile

"Yes used to be, so not anymore", I mumbled

"What's with her?"

"Mom.." I paused and faced her

 "I love her"

"Really?", she widened her eyes a little as I nodded

"You were just  talking about her right?", she said. I didn't respond, but just sighed

"Luhan, if you really love her, then letting go is not the right option. Leaving her would affect her too. Do you think she would be happy with a sad Luhan and leaves her without letting her know what is going on? Furthermore I think you both need each other. Even though she had an amnesia, you can help her regain her memories. I'm sure she want that as much as you want. Don't worry"
