Part 6 It's my life (now)

Hi delivery girl,

Are you in the library? Cuz I can't make it. I have some other things I have to take care of, so can you do it alone for now? I don't have time

You heaved a sigh and stopped searching. You took the books you already had to a table and took a seat.

I guess I have to do it alone, I thought

Why is Luhan not here, beside me. Why do I have the feeling that I feel to secure when I'm with him. Does that mean someting?

I shook off the thoughts as I started to look through the books. I took notes and after 2 hours I decided to stop. I put the books back in the shelves and headed home.

On my way out, I looked down for a moment as I was in deep thoughts. As I looked up I saw Luhan coming from the right corner. We made eye contact and stared deeply into each other's eyes. Then I looked away as he did the same. As I opened my mouth to say something he already proceeded to the entrance of the school.

"Wait!", I yelled at him. He stopped and didn't turn around. So I approached him to face him

"Why didn't you say you were also in the library, we could have done some research for our own project together", I asked him, but he didn't answer and looked away.

"Luhan, what's wrong?", you asked trying to see his face

"Nothing. Well, if you excuse me", he said with a serious tone

"Luhan", you called him, but just ignored you

What did I do? Did I do something wrong? What's wrong? Why is he so sad? What's going on?

Since I was worried, I tried to follow him and talk to him. I don't want some misunderstandings between us.

Once Luhan reached his house I revealed myself from behind the tree

I saw the lights go on in his house. 

So this is where Luhan and his mom lives. I sighed and watched for another moment at the house. Then I walked back and headed home.

I walked in my house as I approached my mother.

"Mom", I started

"What is it MeiLing?"

"Can we talk for a moment?", I asked her

"What's wrong honey?"

"Mom, did I have a accident?", I asked straightforwardly

She looked startled as she looked away and frowned a little

"Mom", I waited for an answer

"Honey, it's better for you if we don't about it", she said, looking worried

"Mom, I have to know. It's about me", I said as I faced her

she sighed and then started to talk

"It happened 3 years ago. You were at home that day. Luhan came along and wanted to hang around with you, so you both went out. And after that I had to visit you in hospital"

"What happened when I was out with Luhan?", I asked

"He told me you both wanted to cross the street, but you didn't watch out. Before you could realize that a car was coming in your direction, you already had been hit by the car. Luhan brought you to hospital and when your father and I arrived, we saw Luhan bursting out in tears. As we comforted him he told us you had amnesia. MeiLing, you didn't know how hard it was for us to get your memories back since the doctor told us we shouldn't bring your memories back. We felt we were hopeless, but luckily you started to remember things as you were back home. Your father and I decided to keep everything as a secret for you and not bring anything back anymore. A new fresh start." she said as she started to tear up. I comforted her and sat closer to her.
