Let's Talk!

        I knew today was going to be one heck of a day.

        Luke gave me a knowing nod and we walked towards the same table at the cafeteria.

     

       He stares at me with shock,a bit of anger.......maybe for biting his dad's Beta in the stomach,but that guy had it coming. I was glad for myself,I wish I could kiss my wolf.

     I would like you to keep you pouty lips to yourself!

      "Like I was going to kiss you in the first place". Giving my wolf a mental grin.

       Focus on the guy it's like he's going to kill you. My wolf  growled.

        Drex.

       "What?"

        My name's Drex. I'm just an animalistic and more alive part of your consience.

        "Okay nice knowing you. I need to focus on Luke right now". I felt myself lose connection but felt a faint tug at the back of my mind.

         I connected my gaze back to Luke and we entered into a staring contest.  I felt Luke's wolf trying to submit my wolf but my wolf was fighting back. My head ached and I knew I might shift soon. Luke was first to break the gaze after a few minutes of trying to make each other submit.

         "You are an Alpha". He stated tensely.

           "Really?" I asked, quite suprised at finding out. Luke seemed to go lucid at my answer.

           "Oh don't you dare act all innocent with me. You took my dad's Beta down,refuse to submit to my wolf and your wolf is as huge and tall as a horse and your answer is 'really?'!"? Each time he would hit the table while making a pointand I  would flinch at the sound.

           I understood him since he knew nothing about what was actually going on.

          "I'm not trying to act all innocent!". I snapped ."I only found out I was a werewolf about three days ago!". "About your dad's Beta I'm really sorry about that,I never intended to ........you know".

           Luke eyes softened at that,"So you are frigging trying to tell me that you never knew that you were a werewolf?" He asked gazing at me intently.

           "I already said that didn't I? I just found out three days ago and it seemed my parent were intent on keeping it from me based on some danger of some sort". I stated feeling down. I was still a little bit pissed at my parents keeping such stuff from me.

     "So if you just found out just about three days ago as you said,what the heck were you doing at the woods with another werewolf. An Omega to be precise?" He stared at me closely and I began to get uncomfortable even though I wasn't scared of him.

          "I wanted to find out about something". Managing to shift my gaze away.

          "About what?" He asked. Well.....there was no danger in asking him about the dangers of me having my first shift.

            "Does the first shift of a young werewolf pose danger to his or her family or anything around him or her?"

             He looked at me as if I asked a crazy question,"Of course not! In fact the family of the werewolf comes together to help the werewolf go through its first shift and a case of danger will only rise when............",his face looked troubled almost as if he was battling with his thoughts,".....no.....that's not possible. Only a case of danger will arise if........see forget what I said okay". Waving his hands up.

                "Okay". I stated feeling a bit suspicious from his reaction. I decided to leave the questions for my Omega friend.

                 "What's the name of your pack?" He asked. The question put me off, making me realize just how much my parents had hidden from me and my siblings.

                 "I don't know. I don't know anything at all". I answered looking down at my table.

                 "They hid it that well didn't they?" He looked at me with slight pity.

                 "Yeah,I guess they did". I replied sounding downcast. The thought of his dad's Beta came to mind.

                  "How's your dad's Beta"? I asked showing my distaste in bringing up the topic but it looked like Luke didn't care.

                   "Well after the huge bite you gave him on his stomach,we had to take him for surgery and he's doing quite well. I pretty much preferred him dead". He said with a shrug of indifference.

               "It was my first shift and I had no idea my wolf'd be that strong". I said trying to continue the conversation and to ease the tension the air around us carried a bit.

               "Like I said,you're an Alpha or better yet you have Alpha's blood in you. Must be your dad or mom." He said taking a sip of juice that I had no idea was on the table.

            My dad seemed to be the one in charge and much respect went to him than my mum, although it was almost equal it still wasn't the same.

              "I'm definitely sure it's my dad". I replied.

               "Okay".

                That couldn't be it. It looked like the discovery of last night seemed to have put him in a pensive mood but I knew something was bothering him and it wasn't just about last night.

          I put my question foward,"Are you okay Luke? It's like something is bothering you." I asked quite concerned,he was still my best friend.

                  "Uhm......Max.....the thing is......uh.....after last night,well your pack was declared an enemy of mine and any association with members of your pack should be cut off". He gazed at me looking quite sorry.

                    I attacked based on self defense,that stupid Beta attacked first and I had the right to defend myself.

                  "Did you tell them that......". I stopped, my voice getting hoarse.

               "You acted on self defence. Yes I did,but the Beta.....he holds more influence in the pack even on my dad.....but the pack's loyalty still lies with my dad. I'm really sorry Max,I tried to convince my dad but........". He sounded downcast and I didn't want that from him even though I had already made an enemy for my dad's pack even before becoming fully a member. Gosh they were going to kill me.

              And kill you they will. You better let pretty boy go....this conversation is getting to downsided for my liking.

               "How am I supposed to end such a conversation, Drex?" I asked my wolf. Like an answer the bell rung for the next class.

                  Saved by the bell. Don't worry we'll find a way out.

            Luke was first to stand up,he looked at me earnestly,"I'm really sorry Max,but this does not put an end to our friendship although I'll have to be quite reserved.....you're still my friend,okay". All I did was nod my head as he strode away.

           At least we might keep our friendship,but I had bigger problems to worry about. Bigger problems like mom and dad. Oh I'm so dead right now.

            Once more into the breach my man. Drex said grinning. Hope he was there to help me.

             Oh I will be......I definitely will be. With a mental grin.
