N: The four of them got up from their seats and went over to where Artemis and his team were clearing up their stuff and cleaning the paint off themselves.
"Got to admit, you are a pretty good shot out there," Wolfgang complimented, "and seeing how you led your group, you definitely earned your rank."
"Definitely," Johann smiled, "and congrats on winning too."
M: Artemis took his helmet off and smiled proudly, "Thank you, I find that treating these simulations like real life or death situations helps the motivation to win, because not winning usually means death."
He took off his paintball goggles and set them down, that's when the three guests finally saw his face. When they first met him, his long brown hair was brushed over his left eye so they couldn't see it, but his hair was tied into a bun now so they could see that the left half of his face had a large mark around his eye and down his cheek.
He noticed them stare for just a moment but it caused him to cover his eye in embarrassment, "I'm sorry, I know it's ugly, I should have warned you."
"Hey, TwoFace, you coming or what," one of the soldiers asked, the group couldn't tell if the nickname was supposed to be an insult or not, but Arty didn't seem to like it.
N: "Nein, it's fine," Johann quickly replied, "we are, unfortunately, used to seeing scars that it doesn't bother us, although seeing yours for the first time did throw me off a bit. Also, just ignore them."
"And who says that scars are ugly, they're pretty in their own way," Wolfgang shrugged, "unless you got yours in an embarrassing way like Johann here."
"Don't embarrass me, Wolfe," the Mandorian grumbled.
"It's my birth right to embarrass you, Kress," the Saxon smirked.
M: "Oh, i-it's not a scar, it's a birthmark, that's what makes it worse," Arty muttered, "the soldiers aren't being mean, I just don't have the heart to tell them I don't like the name, they mean well."
"And I've told you a thousand times, Arty, it looks just fine. You have a girlfriend, surely that means you're not bad looking," MA said, "so a couple kids picked on you when you were young, what of it, they can't hurt you anymore."
Artemis didn't seem convinced, he still untied his hair and brushed it back over his eye, that's when Rowen told Johann, "why don't you tell him about Heuy, didn't he have a birthmark like that?"
"Oh that reminds me, Art did you read that email I sent you," MA asked.
"I did, why do you ask," he answered, "you're not saying that what you sent is real are you, I thought it was a joke."
N: "Oh boy, this is Pruds all over again," Johann sighed before taking in a deep breath, "this oaf next to me is Wolfgang Schwartz-"
"Dummkopf (idiot)," the Saxon grumbled under his breath.
"Beside me here is my Hezyka, Rowen Winters, and I am Johann Kress," the Mandorian continued, "and honestly, the similarities between you and my son Hugo are unnerving. The birthmark, being a soldier, it's like he's standing right in front of me."
M: "Really, that's pretty cool, I was wondering why MA would make a joke like that," Artemis smiled, "and it's also cool that my ancestor had a birthmark, he doesn't have any in the few photos of him, granted they were black and white photos that were taken in a time when people thought birthmarks were from the devil."
He reached into his shirt and took out a locket, in it was a picture of an elderly Hugo, "this is a little tradition we have, Hugo never lost a battle he led so we wear a picture of him for good luck, it's cheeky I know."
