M: Poldara nodded in understanding and cleaned up his little station, leaving for a moment to put them back where he found them. After that, there wasn't much else that could be done. The ones who had mechanical parts couldn't get them wet, nor could Sakura with her cast, so the rest of the personal hygiene stuff would have to wait for after Belarus.
Artemis came in at one point to see what everyone was up to, and when he was asked what he did in his spare time, he shrugged, "I don't usually have spare time. I'm second in command of the entire Mandarian Army; there's always something that needs to be done."
"Come on, you don't have any hobbies whatsoever?" Poldara asked. "Well ... I like to paint sometimes, not like on a canvas, sometimes I'll paint on my weapons and a few of the aircraft, just doodling really."
He took out his personal handgun to show everyone. It had a jaguar painted on it, with jungle leaves and flowers surrounding it, as if it were stalking through the Amazon.
N: "That's actually pretty good," Saxon complimented, "that's way more than just a doodle; that's art."
"You should really explore that talent of yours when you have the time," Caledonia suggested.
M: "I don't know, warfare is pretty much my life now, it's been that way since my 8-times great-grandfather Hugo Kress. We've fought beside the general for eight generations, keeping our lineage alive as the family that was quite literally by the Mandarin brothers' side for their whole lives. I don't see myself being able to do anything else. Like my forefathers before me, I plan on dying protecting my country and family, before I would die lying in some hospital bed."
"A truly noble philosophy, I respect anyone who will give their lives for their family and country," JE smiled, "never falter in your beliefs, sir, continue to live, fight, and die with such honor. I'm sure your ancestors would be very proud of you."
N: "You truly do have a noble goal in life," Saxon nodded, "and your forefathers most likely saw that too, since dying for the country of Mandara is probably the most respectable way to die. However, as someone who has died on the battlefield, all I can say is that you won't regret it when you've taken your last breath."
"You weren't exactly fighting for your country, were you?" Caledonia countered, "Besides, you were an insurgent, so you were bound to have regrets anyway."
"Well, if you don't take my word for it, ask someone who actually fought and died for their country."
Just as he finished speaking, Wolfgang walked into the room, looking like he was in search of someone.
"Has anyone seen MA?" he asked, "People have just been wondering where he is."
M: "He learned some information about the scientist that pissed him off, he said he was goingto give him a piece of his mind and walked off, I told him to take RAF with him," Poldarashrugged, "he would never actually torture prisoners of war, he was a POW during a war, how do you think he got his first daughter before he was married to Aunt Bel?"
He vibrated his wings to see where his uncle was, "he's outside, down by the river. When he gets upset, he usually heads to a body of water. He says it helps him calm down, I never figured out why, though."
N: "He did that when he was a kid, too," Saxon commented, "the Eye of Ora if I'm not mistaken."
"Wasn't that where you found Johann?" Wolfgang asked.
"Ja, and that's a story for another day," the Brit answered.
