A year later

Yoko's pov

Time flies so fast, it seems that just yesterday we bumped into each other but no it's not, it has been almost 2 years and she is about to graduate, not to mention that she is about to give that speech we talked about a year ago. And you are right, she isn't happy about it.

To be honest I am going to miss our trysts, it was fun sneaking around the campus and making out. It has a different kind of thrill, once we almost got caught by the librarian and we tried our best to hide those swollen lips.

I am planning to propose to her, I know she would much rather prefer to be the one who proposes but I feel like she is always the one who is doing big things, making grand gestures. I think for at least once it should be me because she deserves it.

Last year on my birthday, she baked a cake, like literally she did everything by herself and I felt like crying it that moment because I clearly remember that when we first started dating she told me, she can't bake and that she has never baked anything.

It's already a big thing for me that even when I said I can cook for us, she was still willing to cook. We are already like a married couple, sometimes I would cook and she would do the dishes but even when she cooks, she doesn't let me do the dishes saying as long as she can do it I don't have to do anything.

She is just so stubborn but I keep checking if she is okay or not so I can help if she isn't. And while doing all this, she even went out of her way to do something she never did before and the thought behind it made me so emotional.

Flashback

Without opening her eyes, Yoko reached a hand beside her as she stirred in sleep but was met with emptiness, she opened her eyes and looked around the bedroom but Faye wasn't there.

"What time is it?" She said as she sat up and swung her legs to the side, she took her phone from the nightstand to see the time.

9:23? Why didn't she wake me up? Yoko thought as she stood up.

She checked the bathroom before walking to the bedroom door, twisting the knob she walked into the living room but Faye wasn't there so she started walking to the kitchen. Walking inside the kitchen, she found Faye sitting on one of the dining chairs with a cake sitting on the table.

Faye turned around as she heard footsteps and stood up as she saw Yoko. "Happy birthday, baby!" She said grinning at Yoko as she came close to the table.

Yoko took a glance at the cake before turning to Faye. "It's my birthday?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

Faye let out a chuckle before saying, "It is, baby, it's the 19th, you forgot your own birthday?"

"I did, thank you, though you didn't have to decorate it by yourself." Yoko said titling her head as she looked down at the cake, it doesn't look like a store bought cake decoration.

"Huh? The cake is for your birthday, how can I let you decorate it?" Faye asked, with a frown in her face.

Yoko took the cake in her hands. "I meant, why did you do all this hard work when you could have just decorated it by the store you brought it from." She explained as she admired the decoration Faye did.

"But I didn't bring it from a store, I made it here at home." Faye said, rubbing the back of her neck, a sign of her being shy.

Yoko blinked a few times, a little taken aback by the confession. "You made it?" She asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
