With You (FayeYoko)

"You have been quiet lately, what's wrong? Did something happen?" Lux asked as she noticed that Faye has been somewhat distant and lost in her thoughts.

"It's nothing." Faye said without looking up from the papers.

They were in the office, Faye had to check and sign some papers.

"You know you can talk to me about anything, right?" Lux said giving her an encouraging smile.

"Yoko said you're handsome." Faye said without looking up.

"O-oh, so you're jealous?" Lux asked, raising an eyebrow.

Faye sighed closing her eyes briefly as she put down the papers on the desk before looking up. "Lux, you know there isn't anything for me to be jealous of and you're my friend and I think she likes you."

"What? Just because she said I was handsome doesn't mean she likes me in that way!" Lux exclaimed, her eyes wide in disbelief.

"Or maybe she does, she said your smile is pretty and she likes it." Faye said as calmly as possible, trying to keep herself together.

"But she never said she likes me, why don't you just ask her directly? And I don't like her anyways." Lux said as a matter of fact.

"I don't think I'm ready to hear it from her, Lux." Faye said shaking her head.

"What are you going to do then?" Lux asked, her voice just above a whisper.

"I don't know," Faye said before looking up at her. "Can I be alone for a while?"

Lux noticed that Faye looks tired and... Sad? So she decided to let her be for some time.

"Sure." She said standing up and left the office.

Faye let out a tired sigh as she slumped back and swiveled in the chair.

To say that Faye was upset would be an understatement, she was exhausted mentally. She has been fighting with herself for so long and she was getting to the point of confessing but she doesn't know anymore. Did Yoko really like her or was she just another person to her?

Flashback

Faye and Yoko have been coming to Faye's cafe a lot lately but obviously Yoko doesn't know she is the owner. And every time Lux is the one who serves them, Yoko also doesn't know that she is Faye's friend. To her this is just the barista who serves them and she doesn't even know her name.

And today Yoko has an idea, she wants to see if Faye reacts. "This barista is handsome." Yoko said as the barista left after serving their orders.

"O-oh, yeah, she is." Faye was caught off guard.

"Right? I like her smile, it's pretty." Yoko uttered dreamily, trying to sound as convincing as possible.

Faye just smiled awkwardly while nodding and the rest of their time in the cafe she was quiet.

And from that day, she has been quiet and distant. She doesn't ignore Yoko or anything but they're kind of back to the starting point.

End of flashback

For Yoko's part, she certainly regrets saying those things. It was a dick move really, how can she say such things knowing Faye is already so self-conscious. She ruined everything she built by her self. And now Faye has gone quiet, she is back to fighting with herself.

"I shouldn't have done that." Yoko said blankly looking at the notebook.

She is in her classroom with Lyn.
