It's been days since the bridge. So far, there was no signs of even a glimpse of grounders. Adelaine worried it was because they're planning their next attack.Adelaine made she way to the smokehouse after talking to Bellamy in his tent for a while.
"Hey babe." octavia whipped around, grinning at her friend.
"finally." she scoffed. "next time you see my brother, tell him to stop hogging my best friend." a smile found its way onto Adelaine's face at the mere thought.
Adelaine's eyes trailed to the other person in the meat tent."Hey, John." a friendly smile gracing her lips.
he helped her and many others out when she got sick, it was only fair to return the kindness.
"hey, Doll."
Adelaine's eyes trailed across her friend, seeing her face glisten. "do you want me to take your jacket? you're sweating."
"thanks." before the girl could shimmy the jacket off and pile it in your hands, the sound of someone else's voice filled the tent, not murphy's either.
"let's get this party smokin'!" del was a member of bellamy's posse. Adelaine wasn't a big fan of his, that's for sure.
octavia must have shared the same expression as Adelaine. "you don't want the fire too big so maybe just try to knock it down with some wet leaves."
"you get that from your boyfriend?" the boy retaliated. "grounder-pounder."
Adelaine's face suddenly contorted to a disgusted look. she looked at octavia who merely kept quiet, turning and fixing the hanging meat. "Shut up dick or get the hell out of here."
"she's right. a hot fire isn't gonna preserve the meat as well." Murphy's voice spoke up.
"can't take the heat? get out of the smokehouse." he looked between the two, knowing better than to throw around looks to Adelaine. "you should be kissing our asses for being back allowed in this camp."
"leave them alone." Adelaine spat and followed the boy despite octavia grasping her arm. "or i'll drag you out of here myself."
"You know, just because Bellamy is so far up your ass doesn't mean you get to control me."
"What—"
"need me to repeat myself?" Del scoffed. Adelaine folded her arms. "Feel free."
"I said, just because—" Del started but got cut off by a fist to his mouth. "Bitch!" He spat.
"What was that? Couldn't quite hear you."
The boy held his hand to his mouth, blood dripping out. He let out a scoff before turning back around, leaving.
"That was hot."
The girl let out a chuckle as she turned around, she felt smoke engulf her.
del should have listened when octavia told him to lay it off with the leaves. Adelaine found arms engulfing her, octavia's familiar scent filling your nose. She coughed but dragged Adelaine out of the smokehouse.
