I am slipping
From this world, From this reality
From this wonderland of actuality
The aching of my need to talk
To let it go
To let the balloon 'pop'
Like a fish on a hook
And the happy endings that only exist in books
The butterflies that no longer speed up your heart
This twirling sensation no longer applies
That dizzying feeling,
An escape from life
You are locked in a cage.
You put in your effort
Your heart, Your might
Pounding and pulling till all hope is lost
Confined, Contained
Why does everything come with a cost?
