That night your eyes held mine as the sun died out
The nighttime creatures sang amongst the evening frost
Something was different
We could sense it in the air
Yet you lingered close
As if it was a dare
Your fingers tangled with mine as the clock struck

Our time had begun to run out
A moonlight haze that had my pulse pounding
I could feel your grasp on my heart drowning
Your lips danced across mine but they were unfamiliar
And when you dared to speak
Your words belonged to a stranger
