Seasonal Love

You fell in love with my flowers,
Not my roots.
So when autumn came,
You didn't know what to do.
My leaves fell, and the colors changed.
But you said you loved me anyways.

You fell in love with my snowflakes,
Not my clouds.
So when when spring came,
You didn't know what to do.
They melted away as I turned to rain.
But you said you loved me anyways.

You fell in love with my warm rays,
Not my blazing flames.
So when summer came,
You didn't know what to do.
My light burned, and the heat grew each day.
But you said you loved me anyways.

You fell in love with my soft showers,
Not my storms.
So when winter came,
You knew what to do
Flashes of thunder and I started to pour.
That's when you told me,
you couldn't take it anymore.

You fell in love with me,
But not for long.
I began to change,
And you didn't have a clue.
All these sides of me,
I only showed to you.

You fell in love with me,
And I with you.
But as each season passed,
I simply grew.
You slowly drew back,
And that's when I knew.
I could live my life without depending on you.
