Lissa POV

I stared after Rose completely and utterly shocked. Why the heck would she say those words for? She just assumed and jumped to conclusions, when in fact I wasn't thinking that at all. Yes, I was very mad at her for leaving, but, I didn't or wasn't going to say a word about my feelings on the matter. I just wanted to know why the heck she left, and if she was leaving anytime soon...

I sighed and went to go outside to find Christian who went outside so Rose and I could have privacy while we talked. I found him on the court grounds where I had been flown out to for that stupid council meeting- which went no where, as you could see. I sighed and went into his arms. "You alright, my queen?" He asked softly.

"No. I'm not okay. Not by a long shot. God, what am I gonna do if she leaves again? I can't go through that again, Christian. I just can't!" I said and buried my face in his neck. He let his arms envelope me and whispered into my hair. "Shh.. Everything will work itself out. I promise. Now. How about you and I go back to our room and have some alone time so I can help you forget about her for the time being?"

I blushed and kissed his neck. "That sounds perfect. Thank you."

"That's my job darling." He replied and led me to our room where I was supposed to be.

Rose POV
I slammed the room door shut. There was no way in hell I was staying here now. It was pretty damn clear that Lissa fucking hated me to no end. But what the hell was I supposed to do!? I can't tell her or even Christian what the hell was wrong. I've only told my Mother and she literally broke down over it. I was trying to avoid so many people crying over the fact that something horrible was going on and that my future career was in jeopardy mainly because I wasn't sure if I had a future anymore. Not without the treatment, that was. I sighed and heard a knock on my door. I knew it wasn't Lissa. Who was it? I got up and opened the door. Adrian Ivashkov was at my door. Unbelievable. "What?" I asked annoyedly.

"Is that how you greet an old friend, Hathaway?" He asked, gently playing with a ring. Oh wow.. Was he married? Why not?! You left for two whole months! Things change after awhile.

"Uh. Sorry, Ivashkov I've been pretty busy lately." I told him, fixing my gaze back to his sea green eyes.

"I've noticed. Belikov's been pretty down lately. Hell, for the past two months really."

I sighed. What was I supposed to say? I noticed his eyes take me in and I prayed he didn't notice anything. "Eh, Little Dhampir... Was there a certain reason why you left?"

Oh great... Why does everybody want to know. I sighed and said,"I can't say, don't want to say, really."

He gave a sigh of his own and pushed me into the room. "Little Dhampir.. You look like pure hell. What's going on? "

"Adrian." I warned.

"You know how I am Rose." Adrian said.

"Adrian, please." I said more firmly.

"Tell me."

"Adrian! No. I-I just can't! Now would you please let it go?" I shouted.

He stopped his rant and watched me carefully. He came towards me and said," Rose.. Please, let me in."

I backed up a few steps shaking my head. "I think you should go Adrian. I am not saying another word about the matter and that's that." I said, looking up at his green eyes. Daring him to test me.
He cleared his throat and finally nodded. "Fine. Just don't go away. Lissa's been having it rough ever since the day you left."

I sighed now. "I know. She's really upset with me. Which she should be. But I am doing what I have to do for me. I can't just quit for something like her. I need to get my health under control."

"You know.. You sound like someone who is dying." Adrian said matter of factly. I bit my lip at his choice of words. His eyes soon went big in realization when I said nothing else. "Oh my god.. Rose are you...?"

"Adrian..." I said on the verge of tears. I can't tell him even if he's on the verge of guessing right. I bit my lip harder and turned my head from him.

"Rose! Talk to me." Adrian said and he sounded so desperate, so concerned.

"No. I can't say. Not going to say. You should leave." I said.

"Does Belikov know?"

"Why do you think he'd know?" I folded my arms.

"He's your guy, Rose. You have to tell him!"

"You have to keep it a secret, Adrian. I don't want anyone else finding out."

"So.. Your dying? Of what?" He asked sadly. I could almost see tears in his eyes.

"Stomach Cancer, Adrian. I'm dying of Stomach cancer." I get out.

Adrian wrapped his arms around me but I quickly pushed him away. "Adrian. Please. Promise me you won't say a word to Lissa, Christian or even Dimitri. Please. Just let it stay between me and you. Alright?"

"How can you expect me to just do that, Rose?" Adrian asked. "I can't keep that from them! You shouldn't do that either!"

"Adrian! Please, please promise me. I'll tell them when I think they should know."

"When they think?? Are you  stupid Rose?! You could die and they should know! Hell, Belikov should know at least."

I immediately shook my head at that. "Adrian, please don't say a word to Dimitri. Not yet at least."

"You have a week to tell him or I will!" Adrian stated and left my room shutting the door with a slam.

Hey guy's I wasn't planning to tell y'all this so soon but it sort of felt right at the time. So you guy's know what is wrong with Rose. Now, what y'all may not know is this book is coming from my heart. I lost my granny 6 months ago to this type of Cancer. So everything you see here is how I felt. The POV from Lissa is how I felt. So just thought I'd let y'all know that. Plus, granny and I had made a deal. I would a write a book about her last couple of months and I ALWAYS stick to my promises. So that is exactly what I'm doing. Thanks again for reading.💜
