chapter 13

Lissa POV

I looked out my bedroom window, tears falling over my face as I thought about Rose. What was I suppose to do? I was her best friend and wanted to know what was wrong, sometimes I wish I had our bond. So that way I could look into her mind and just figure out what the heck was going on with her. I hated being kept in the dark, nothing good ever came of it. You either just got broken by it or mad as heck because of it. Either just tore you apart. A knock sounded and I looked up to see Christian standing in the doorway, his ice blue eyes looked at me with a sense of love and concern. I didn't want that last emotion there. "Hi, thought you were with your Aunt for the day?"

"I was, for a while, then I got bored and I decided to come back to check on you." He had his hands in his pockets as he walked over to me. 

I smiled.

"You don't have to do that, you know that right?"

He nods and smirked. "I knew you were going to say that. Oh, which reminds me: I brought you a little tiny gift, nothing special ." He pulls out a bag and I eye him wondering what was in it. He pulled out a tiny ring that was a diamond. I smiled up at him and said, "Christian... oh, my goodness! I love this. Thank you!" I gave him a hug after he put it on my ring finger. "Your welcome. But, that's not the reason for me buying it."

I frowned at him, wondering what his motive was. "Why did you get it?"

"First thing you should know: the diamond was made by fire and turned it into a diamond, which I did that by myself. The second thing is, Vasilisa.." He paused, getting down on one knee as he smiled at me, "With this ring, I want you to promise me that I have you have my  heart forever and that nobody will ever have it other than me." I felt like everything was swaying as this guy asked me to have my heart only for him. I nodded a few times and with tears running down, I gave him a hug. "Is that a yes?"

I nodded. "Definitely a yes."

Dimitri POV

I told Tasha I was going to train and she left because she had something to do with Christian, which was just fine with me. I went to the gym, where only a few individuals were there. I looked at them, and instantly shook my head. They didn't have proper technique, and weren't using their hips the way they should. I quickly went to a punching bag, hitting it with everything I had. A few minutes later I stopped to catch my breath, as I did I noticed that my hands had burns from rubbing against the rough material from the bag. I looked around and saw every last person staring at me in amazement. I swallowed, looking at each person. They were all Dhampirs.

"Can I help you?" I asked.

The dhampir's looked at me with such pride and respect that it almost brought me to tears. The reason being that it reminded me so much of how Roza would react. After I helped them they thanked me, going out almost immediately. I turned my focus back on the bag and kept going as I was alone now. I breathed in as each punch made a loud impact with the bag, making me want to punch it harder, so I did. I had gone into an almost frenzy type trance as the door opened twenty minutes later. My attention was still on the bag, so I grunted as I said,"Hey, gym' s about to close down."

I heard a person clearing their throat as the person spoke, "My shift ended and I decided to come here for a bit with my lovely Sonya,  Guardian Belikov. "

Sonya.....? The person speaking was Mikhail Tanner. I stopped and turned around, seeing them with their arms linked together. Sonya looked lovely as ever with a blue dress that matched perfectly with her pale skin and red hair. Mikhail looked good too, just not in a Oh-I-Love-Him type of way. He wore a white collard shirt with the cuffs rolled up, with a few buttons left untouched that showed his chest a bit. "Why are the two of you dressed like that?"

"Well after Mikhail's shift was over he took me to dinner and proposed to me. Then he wanted to come here so I agreed." Sonya says with a radiant smile.

I nodded and stepped up to them, hugging each one of them."Congratulations "

They smiled both at me, then Sonya asked,"Have you seen Rose lately?"

"I saw her two days ago. Why?"

"Oh, nothing, I was just wondering if you had seen her lately. "

I nodded and said, "Well, I should be going. Curfews coming so I need to patrol the dorms soon. You guy's have a nice evening." I smiled as I walked past them. I sighed as soon as I went outside, my thoughts came back to Rose. Damn it, I wished she'd just tell me what is going on with her. It's killing me to see her the way she is, but I know Rose has her reasons, however; sometimes they could be really out there. I just didn't know what to do. Should I just go to her and ask? Do I just wait for her to come to me to tell me? Or do I just get sick of worrying and torture her til she told me? I banished that last thought, I'd never do anything to physically hurt Roza. Damn, I am still calling her that. I am with Tasha, I shouldn't even be thinking of Rose. I sighed again and went to find Alberta. She was in the lobby, watching the gates from a far. "Hey, Petrov, I need a favor."

She stayed in the same position as she spoke to me. "Which is, Guardian Belikov?"

"I need you to relieve me from the rotation, just for tonight."

"Why?"

"I haven't been getting that much sleep and would like to just catch up on sleep, ya know so that way I'll feel refreshed for tomorrow."

"Yeah, okay. That's fine. Have a goodnight Guardian Belikov."

I nodded and went back to my room, falling asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
