Chapter 4: Kai's Bond

Kai reaches the end of the portal. He falls out and lands onto a floor covored by two feet of snow. He stands up and takes a look around the area he was in. He was in a woodland area surrounded by dead, snow covored trees. It was snowing and cold. But Kai was just warm enough that he just felt goosebumps all over his body.

"Tea? Thristan? Joey?" Kai yelled.

There was a short pause.

"Tea?" Kai said softly.

He signs and his breath was visable. Kai makes another deep breath watching his breathing swirl around and disapate. There was a path that went between the trees. Kai followed it. The snow crunching under Kai's feet. There was fog in Kai's way but he kept on walking. Kai then started to hear laughing. The laughing sounded like two kids. Two little girls. Then two ghosts of two little girls run out of the trees. Kai stops in his tracks, shocked, and watches them. The ghosts ran around in circles, laughing and having a good time. The two ghosts looked the same. The only difference was that one of them had long hair and the other had short hair.

"Twins." Kai thought.

Then another voice comes up. An older women's voice.

"Mary! Ashley! Dinner is ready!" The voice said.

The two ghosts look towards the fog. They run into the fog and disapear from Kai's view. Kai looks at the fog then it starts clearing up. The fog was gone and the view was replaced by a house. It was a big and old house. It was made of wood and the wood was broken and weithered. It had two stories, a big wooden door, a large tree in front with a tire swing, a balcony with two roking chairs on it, and a smaller balcony on the second floor. Kai starts walking over to the house. The ghosts came back again. There was an women at the houses front door holding it open as the two children run in.

"Come on get inside. Your father made something special for dinner." The mother said.

The children cheered. The ghosts dispersed and the front door was open. Kai gets to the door and opens it making a loud sqeeking noise as it's opening. A male ghost greeted Kai.

"Shut the door hunny, we don't want any snow getting in." The father ghost said.

"Of course dear." The mother ghost said closing the door.

Kai then shut the door behind him. The thought of him being part of this family started going through his head. And instead of the father telling the mother to shut the door, Kai preetended that the father told him to shut the door. He didn't know why; he just did. The ghost family go to a room to the left of the front door. Kai follows. The family sits down at a lond wooden table that had glass bowls, and a larger bowl in the middle filled with noodles and bits and pieaces of pork.

"Yay, noodles and pork!" The twins cried out.

"Yes and I made a lot so eat up." The father said.

"YAY!"

The mother poured some noodles and pork into everyones bowl with a laddle. The twins started eating and the ghosts dispersed. The table was broken in half, the chairs were broken into pieces and thrown apart everywhere. There was also a skeleton in the middle of the table with its ribs smashed in. Kai didn't want to think who it was.

Kai started walking around the house more. He gets to the living room where the ghosts came back. The mother and father were standing in front of the twins who were sitting beside each other on the ground, crossing there legs.

"Mary, Ashley, your father and I have something to tell you." The mother said.

"We, think it's about time that you two should start your training." The father said.
