It was sunny outside, and you decided to take advantage of it. In the garden, you worked with your gentle fingers in the soil, trying to bring it in a good condition for the seed you were going to plant in and give a life to. You loved spending time on these, making your garden gain a consciousness by decorating it with colourful flowers and plants, you even had trees growing. You were very proud of it.
It was not easy though, not at all, especially today, as it was excessively hot. But you didn't complain, doing things like these with no one disturbing your peace gave you comfort. You let out a heavy tired breath after you finished implanting the seeds and making sure the earth is alright for it to grow healthily. Getting up, you wiped off your sweat and smiled.
You took off your gloves, careful not to accidentally take off your ring, as it got stuck often. Bringing your arms up, you stretched and went to fill in the watering can. To finish off, you would go over your whole garden to water all your plants. You payed extra attention when watering your laurel trees, since it was really hot that day. Your humming voice mixed with the sound of water pouring and soon you heard the footsteps you were waiting for.
Of course he got attracted by your angelic humming, not taking long before he stood by the entrance of the garden, leaning against the doorframe. You kept watering the trees as you swiftly turned your head backwards to see his beautiful face, taking a second to smile at him joyfully before turning back forward. He couldn't get enough of it, no matter what you do or where you are, you were always effortlessly glowing to him. As if everything you touched was blessed with eternal beauty.
You smiled as you kept your focus on watering the laurel trees, acting like you don't care but waiting patiently for him to come from behind. You tried to suppress the smile, but it was so hard, as if the corners of your lips were sewn back, all because of him.
Looking at the best thing that happened to him, he chuckled and pushed himself up from doorframe. Smirking in joy as he approached you from behind, he let his hands slide over the skin of your arm and embraced you from behind. No matter how long you were with him, you could never not feel fuzzy and blush whenever he got close to you unannounced like this.
"You finished early today...." You said as you slightly turned your head.
"I tried my best for you." He kept smiling.
"Oh, you know I don't want you to-!" You were going to scold him for pushing himself to get home to you faster, turning completely around now, but he cut you off.
"Shhh" He pressed his finger against your lips, shushing you before his hand went to undo one of your hands holding the water can. He lifted it up, holding it so that the ring glowed in the sunlight.
He hummed and positioned it closer to your face, gesturing at it. "You see this? What does this mean?" He asked as you looked at him puzzled. "Compared all to the things I would do for my beautiful wife, this is not even considered something."
He paused smiling for a second as he remembered somthing. "Remember when you so badly wanted to owe me something for saving you back then,when the fatui first captured you?"
"Hm?"
"How about this...for the rest of our lives, you stop feeling bad for me when I do something for you out of my own will, and just enjoy."
He smiled again, making you chuckle, this man never failed to surprise you. "Alright..."
He looked at you in adoration, taking a second before closing the distance between you two and pressing a deep kiss on your lips.
