Hearts Entwined in a Fractured World
Part 13: A Deeper Entanglement
Subaru let out a weary sigh as he lay on the bed, his body completely drained from the events that had unfolded. The dim light filtering through the cracks in the cabin walls highlighted the serene faces of Pandora and Ryuzu, who were nestled beside him, their expressions soft and peaceful as they rested. Both were covered by a shared blanket, leaving Subaru caught in the middle of a situation he had never imagined himself in.
His mind raced, recalling how he had ended up here.
---
It began innocently enough in the mansion garden. Ryuzu and Pandora approached him with gentle smiles, each taking hold of one of his hands.
“Come with us, Subaru,” Ryuzu had said, her voice sweet but firm.
Subaru blinked in confusion. “What’s going on?”
“You’ll understand soon,” Pandora added, her tone carrying an air of authority that sent a chill down his spine.
Without giving him much of a choice, the two began pulling him along. Subaru stumbled after them, his protests drowned out by their determination. They led him away from the mansion, deeper into the forest. The further they went, the more unease bubbled in Subaru’s chest.
When they finally reached an abandoned cabin, Subaru’s instincts screamed at him to run, but Pandora and Ryuzu had other plans. Once inside, they quickly cast a barrier spell, sealing the cabin off entirely.
Subaru’s eyes widened in shock. “What are you two doing?!”
The sight of their heart-shaped eyes made his blood run cold. The memory of the previous night surged back to him, and a shiver ran down his spine.
“Oh no, not again,” he muttered, taking a step back.
Pandora smirked. “Last night was wonderful, Subaru. But it wasn’t enough. Ryuzu and I decided we wanted more.”
Ryuzu nodded, a faint blush dusting her cheeks. “That’s why we brought you here, away from Beatrice, Petra, and Meili, I suppose.”
Subaru gasped, realizing their intentions. “You can’t be serious!”
He turned to flee, but Pandora waved her hand, freezing him in place with a spell. “You’re not going anywhere, Subaru.”
Despite his protests, Subaru found himself at their mercy. Pandora leaned in, capturing his lips in a firm kiss. His eyes widened in shock, but before he could even process what was happening, Ryuzu pushed Pandora aside, jealousy flashing in her eyes.
“Don’t hog him, Pandora!” Ryuzu said, pulling Subaru into a kiss of her own.
Subaru’s mind reeled as the two women vied for his attention. Their playful bickering eventually ended with them dragging him into the bedroom, where he was left helpless to their advances.
---
Now, hours later, Subaru stared at the ceiling, his body too exhausted to move. Pandora and Ryuzu had finally fallen asleep, their expressions calm and content as they rested beside him.
Subaru sighed, brushing a hand through his messy hair. “What is my life even turning into?” he muttered to himself.
Despite his fatigue, he couldn’t help but think about the other girls back at the mansion. He knew they would be searching for him, and the thought of facing them after this ordeal made his stomach churn.
But for now, with no way to escape the cabin and his body demanding rest, Subaru allowed his eyes to close. He decided he would deal with the chaos awaiting him in the morning.
---
Back at the mansion…
Beatrice, Petra, and Meili stood in the garden, frustration evident on their faces.
“He’s not here either, I suppose,” Beatrice said with a scowl.
“Where could he have gone?” Petra asked, her voice tinged with worry.
Meili frowned, crossing her arms. “Something’s not right. He wouldn’t just disappear without saying anything.”
Their search led them to Otto and Garfiel, who were chatting near the mansion’s entrance.
“Have either of you seen Subaru?” Beatrice asked, her tone demanding.
Otto scratched his head. “Last I saw him, he was in the garden with Ryuzu and Pandora. But then I got distracted, and when I looked back, they were gone.”
The three girls exchanged a knowing look. The mention of Pandora’s name was all the confirmation they needed.
“Thank you, Otto,” Beatrice said curtly before turning to Petra and Meili. “Let’s go. We’ll find him, I suppose.”
As they walked away, Otto called after them with a sly grin. “By the way, how was last night with Subaru? You all seemed pretty… busy.”
The three girls froze, their faces turning a deep shade of red. Without looking back, they hurried away, ignoring Otto’s teasing remark.
Garfiel, however, was completely lost. “What’s he talkin’ about? And who’s this Pandora chick?”
Otto patted his shoulder. “Trust me, Garfiel, you don’t want to know. Some things are better left unsaid.”
Garfiel frowned, the name Pandora stirring a vague sense of familiarity in his mind. But he couldn’t quite place it.
---
Back in the cabin, Subaru drifted off to sleep, the warmth of the blanket and the steady breaths of Pandora and Ryuzu lulling him into a restless slumber.
To be continued…
In Part 14, the other girls close in on Subaru’s location, setting the stage for a confrontation with Pandora and Ryuzu. Subaru’s growing exhaustion and confusion will make it increasingly difficult for him to navigate the complex relationships forming around him. Will he find a way to resolve the situation peacefully, or will things spiral further out of control? Stay tuned.
