me and tre browsed the lines of rings and chains behind a thick layer of glass.

i had no idea what to get willow for christmas and it was tomorrow.

tre pointed at a silver necklace with a flashy diamond cross as the pendant.

"you think she'd like that?" i asked.
"shit i don't know. she's your girlfriend." he replied.

i groaned, putting my head in my hands and peering down at the necklace through the glass.

"you're no help." i said.
"just get it." he replied.

the man behind the counter opened up the sliding door and grabbed the necklace, giving me and tre a closer look.

it looked even better close up, the small diamonds glistening in the bright lights of the jewelry store.

"how much?" i asked.
"this one is $2500, we have cheaper options if you're looking for something with less volume." he replied.
"no i'll take this one." i replied.

he nodded, closing the small box and heading to wrap the necklace and place it into a nicer box.

me and tre followed him around to the front counter to make the purchase.

"after tax the total is going to be $2,821.64" he spoke.

tre gave me a look, making sure i knew what i was paying for.

"i hope she's worth it." he spoke.

i slid my card into the reader, waiting for it to beep before removing it and putting it back into my pocket.

it was silent for a moment until the receipt printed and the man grabbed it and placed it into the bag.

"receipt is in the bag. have a nice day." the man spoke with a small smile.

i replied with a 'you too' before me and tre headed out, walking back to the exit of the mall.

"you don't want to go anywhere else?" he asked.
"i just drained my entire bank account." i replied.

he scoffed, knowing i was being sarcastic and continuing to walk with me.

"you wanna come back to my place?" he asked.

i nodded, needing to smoke. i pulled my phone out of my pocket, telling willow i was going to tres for a little bit and would be home soon.

gabby had taken ezra for a couple weeks so he could go see his family for christmas and i didn't want to start a huge fight by protesting so i just let her have him.

tres room was dimly lit, the glow from his tv being the only source of light aside from his red led's.

he was playing fortnite while i sat on his bed, watching him while smoking the blunt he had previously rolled.

zeus was laying beside me, huffing occasionally at the lack of attention i was giving him.

tre removed his shirt, his muscles now prominent in the dim light.

i was always jealous of how easily he had such a toned body despite his lack of physical activity and shit diet.

he had a fresh tattoo on his arm, making me point it out.

"what is it?" i asked.

he turned to the side slightly in his chair and held his arm out so i could see his tattoo.

it was a flower, his moms favorite kind, with vines descending down his arms, wrapping all around.

"when did you get that done?" i asked.
"last week" he replied.
