Teri's POV

"Good choice!" I exclaimed to my clients.

It was a Friday morning, and I was at work, where I'm an interior designer. I design, paint, arrange and create people's spaces for a living.

My clients for that day had just picked their color scheme that they wanted me to use for their living room/family space.

"I love the lilac purple." I continued.

"We do too." The couple nodded.

"I'll get to work right away. Let me just call in my crew, and your newly designed space should be done within five business days." I confirmed.

"Thank you so much Ms. Polo." The husband smiled, shaking my hand.

"Oh please, call me Teri."

"Thanks again Teri." The wife waved, as the two of them walked out of their house, and I was left alone to get to work.

Many hours later, when my team and I were about to call it a day, there came a knock on the door.

"It's probably the residents, I'll get it." I yelled.

But when I opened the door, it was a woman I had never seen before.

She was tall and thin and beautiful. Her hair was free falling down to her shoulders, and her skin was a beautiful caramel color.

"M...may I help you?" I asked, in awe of her beauty.

"H...hi..." She began. "I'm Sherri."

"Hi Sherri." I smiled, sticking my hand out to shake hers. "I'm Teri."

"I live next door." She smiled.

"I've definitely seen you before..." I said curiously.

"Probably on TV." She said, humbly. "I'm Sherri Saum."

"Oh my...oh my god, Sherri Saum, you're right. You were in "Sunset Beach", that old TV series." I realized aloud.

"That's right." She confirmed.

"And you were in that TV movie...oh gosh what was it called...."

"'Relative Stranger'". We both said at the same time.

"And didn't you guest star on SVU?" I continued. "I love that show!"

"I did!" She replied.

"Wow. And I'm standing right in front of you."

I was starstruck. Because of the fact that she was indeed a star, and because she was just so beautiful, even more so in person.

"I brought you this." She smiled, handing me a tinfoil pan with something in it.

"They're brownies." She continued. "I know you and your team have been working so hard on my neighbor's house, so I figured you all deserve a treat."

"That's so sweet of you!" I smiled. "We were just about to call it a day...would you like to see the progress?" I offered. "I mean...it's not my house, but your neighbors won't mind, will they?"

"I'm sure they wouldn't." She smiled.

"Well come in then!" I said, opening the door and gesturing for her to enter.

"This is what we've done so far." I continued. "That whole pile of pillows over there is all of our options."

"Wow." She laughed. "That's a lot of pillows. But the room looks good!"

"Why thank you!"

For some reason, I couldn't take my eyes off this woman. She was beautiful, and so mysterious in an interesting way.

"My husband and I are actually thinking of redesigning our bedroom!" Sherri began.

'Dammit, she has a husband.' I thought to myself. 'Wait, why am I upset about that?'

"Could we maybe hire you?" She continued.

"Um, uh, of course!" I answered. "Here's my card."

I handed my business card to her, and our hands touched.
I felt a rush of energy shoot through my body.

"....thanks!" She smiled, seeming to hesitate as our hands touched, too.

"And don't, uh, if you want to visit...just, feel free." I smiled. "I should be here all next week."

"Ok, yeah! I'll be sure to come by. I gotta get going though, Kamar is taking me out for lunch. Kamar is-"

"Your husband." I finished for her, and she nodded to indicate that I was correct.
"Have fun." I half smiled.
Why was I upset about the fact that she was going out with her husband?

"Thanks." Lena replied.

She lingered for a couple of seconds before leaving, but to me it felt like eternity.

Sherri's POV

'God she was gorgeous.' I thought to myself as I walked back down the street to my house.

'Well, not in a...gay way.' I kept thinking. 'She's just really beautiful.'

I walked to my front door and opened it to find Kamar, ready to go to lunch.

"Hi honey." I smiled. "I just met Teri, the woman who's working on the neighbor's house. She's really sweet and funny. Remember how we were thinking of having our room redone? I think we should hire her. She's so good at it!"

"Why? Do you have a crush on her?" My husband laughed, jokingly.

"No, what makes you say that?" I defended myself.

"I was kidding." He laughed. "We can look into her business later. Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah." I nodded and grabbed my purse.

As we drove to lunch, I thought about what it would be like to have Teri work on our bedroom.

'It would be so fun! I would want to stay in the house though, unlike our neighbors, because I would want to talk to her all day.' I thought to myself.
'She's just so fun to be around, and I knew that just from being around her for what of 10 minutes today!'

And from then on, I was determined to be around her as much as I could.

AN: This was shorter than normal, because it was just to kind of set the story. I hope you liked it and are excited to see where it goes!
