Teri's POV

Sherri drove my car from the diner to my house, with me in the passengers seat.

As we pulled into my driveway, I saw that the front door was open.

The car was barely stopped when I jumped out, yelling my daughters name.

"Bailey!" I yelled for the second time, running up my front stairs and skipping every other step.

I barged through the door to see Landon and the babysitter standing in the living room.

"Landon get out." I said sternly.

"I'm sorry, you're not my wife anymore so I will not take your orders." He sassed back.

"Shut up and get out." I said again. I ran over to the babysitter as Landon began to walk towards the door.

"Where's Bailey." I whispered.

She nodded her head towards the stairs, indicating that Bailey was upstairs.

Landon stopped at the door and turned back around.

"Who is that?" He asked, regarding Sherri.

"None of your business." I stated. "Did you take anything." I asked, but more like a statement.

He just stared at me with out answering.

" I said, did you take anything." I asked again.

"Just the time out of your day to come save OUR daughter." He smirked.

"MY daughter, Landon, she's my daughter!" I yelled.

I gave the babysitter a quick and quiet elbow on the arm. I knew she would know exactly what I meant by it.

She left the room and went upstairs.

"Bailey's fine." Landon said to me, knowing where the babysitter was going. "I would never hurt my baby."

"She was your baby. But then you decided to leave." I corrected him.

Landon scoffed, and turned around to head out the door.
Once in the drive way, he took his heavy, work-boot-covered foot, and kicked my car.

"Hey!" Sherri yelled, leaning against the fence but now approaching Landon. "You think you can just do that?"

"Sherri!" I yelled, running outside to her. I gave her eyes to try to get her to stop.

"This your little girlfriend?" Landon asked.

"No! And far from it."

Sherri's expression changed upon my saying that.
I knew I had upset her, but it was in the heat of the moment.

Despite her feelings, Sherri jumped right back in.

"You have no right to go around ruining Teri's property or stealing her stuff or scaring her kid."
She yelled, emphasizing that Bailey was mine.

"It's either lawyer or girlfriend, you can't be both." He snarked back.

"She's neither Landon." I said sternly.  "She's my friend, and she's right. You have no right to even be here, so how about you just leave."
