Teri's POV

The next morning, I went into work at Sherri's neighbor's house.

My crew and I worked all morning, and during lunch break I decided to go out and grab something.

As I was getting into my car, I heard footsteps in the next driveway.

I turned around and to my surprise, there was Sherri in her driveway.

"Sherri!" I smiled, waving.

"Oh hey Teri!" Sherri waved back. "What are you up to?"

"I'm on my lunch break. Do you want anything? I'm about to grab some food. Hungry?" I asked.

'I'm rambling.' I thought to myself. 'Stop rambling!'

"Oh you don't have to get me anything!" Sherri said humbly.

"Oh come on, I want to." I replied.

"Well then...surprise me! I'll eat anything." She laughed.

"I was just gonna get myself a salad. Should I make that two?" I flirted.

'Wait why am I flirting?!' I thought to myself.

"A salad sounds great." Sherri nodded.

Sherri's POV

Ding dong!
I heard the doorbell about a half hour after my encounter with Teri that afternoon.

'Its her.' I smiled to myself.

She was so nice to get me lunch! Kamar wasn't home, so it was just me at home.
I was prepared to invite Teri in to have lunch with me.

When I opened the door, there was Teri with a take out bag.

"Hey!" I smiled.

"Hi!" She smiled back. "I have your salad."

"Come on in." I offered, stepping aside so she could enter.

I walked her out to the table where she put down the bag and took out two salads and two waters.

"Wasn't sure what you liked for a drink, so I figured water was a safe bet." Teri explained.

"Water's great." I smiled.

"So how's the house coming?" I continued, sitting down at the table.

"Really good." She replied, sitting as well. "We got all of the painting done on Friday, so today we're moving new furniture in."

"Fun!"

We sat in silence for a few seconds, eating our salads.

"So I talked to Kamar..." I began, breaking the silence. "...and he said that he would look into hiring you! He's very picky about construction and design on our house."

"I see." Teri responded. "Well, I can promise you that if you put your room in my care, it will be perfect, and nothing less, within five to seven business days."

"Very precise!" I laughed.

"That's me!" She joked back. "And speaking of your house, it really is beautiful. Not a pillow out of place."

"Why thank you." I blushed.

There was again a silence, which Teri broke this time.

"So...any auditions coming up? Roles coming your way? Anything?" She asked me.

"Well, I haven't had anything huge for a while, but I'm actually planning on going in for a second audition for a show at ABC Family." I began.

"Oh fun!" She exclaimed. "What show?"

"It's called 'The Fosters'. The pilot is written, so it just needs to be cast and filmed." I finished.

"Well..." Teri started with a joking tone of voice. "...I've done a little bit of acting in my day." She fake gloated. "I'm pretty professional, if I do say so myself."

"Wow really?!" I flirted back.
'Wait, flirting?!' I thought to myself. 'Why am I flirting?'

"Why yes!" Teri laughed.

"But really." I interrupted her laughing, suddenly serious. "Have you done any acting things?"

"Well...school plays. But who hasn't done those?"

"True." I nodded.

"And...I've barely told anybody this...but...I actually auditioned for a TV show a few years ago..." Teri admitted.

"No way!!!" I laughed. "What show?"

"Well, the network didn't like it. It never aired. But hey, I did get the part!"

"That's awesome." I smiled.

We again, sat in silence.

Then, an idea came to my mind.

"Hey you know what?" I started, wiping my mouth with a napkin.

"No, I don't. What?" She joked.

"The character that my audition is for, her name is Lena, plays a lesbian in the show, and they're looking for someone to play her significant other, Stef...why don't you audition?" I suggested.

Teri's eyes widened at my idea.

"Oh no, I couldn't." She finally said. "I'm not a professional actress like you."

"Oh come on!" I encouraged. "You got cast in a professional show! And technically, it's the writer's fault that the show didn't air. It doesn't make you any less of an actress."

"Well, I guess your right, but still. I'm not ready for he big leagues. And I love my job. I don't know if I'd want to give it up for something that could end up going horribly wrong." Teri explained.

"But what if it goes right and we both get the parts? I've already been in for my first audition, and the show is crazy good. I'll be damned if it doesn't air."

"Well-"

"And you could always just take a break from your job and go back if things don't go right." I interrupted her. "But I'm confident in this one. I really am."

"I don't know Sherri..." She began.

"I do." I smiled. "I know you're like, exactly what the producers are looking for in Stef. And I know you can do it."

I looked at her with eyes full of belief. I had never looked at another woman this way before, and it was like I was seeing her in a different way than I thought I ever would...

"Just come with me." I continued. "Saturday morning at 9 is my second audition. They'll love to see you."

"Alright..." Teri said. "...I'll audition."

"You will?!" I practically screamed.

"I will. I am officially back in the acting world. And I'm auditioning for 'The Fosters.'"

Disclaimer: I know this is probably not how actual TV auditions work, but for the sake of the story I'm doing it this way😂😂

And also, if any of you have heard the actual story of Teri and Sherri meeting and how their auditions went, it's a lot different than this, and probably none of the stuff that actually happened will happen in this story lol.

So thanks again for reading! Hope you enjoyed😊
