"What was I supposed to do, Lena??" Sam yelled from inside the audition room.

I had already done my single audition, and I think it went well. They had me read lines from the script alone. Most of them were monologues of Stef's.

Now, Sam was in there alone with the producers doing the same thing.

Sam finally came out, followed by Bradley, Peter, and Joanna.

"So." Bradley began. "We just wanted to sit the two of you down and talk about something."

Sam took a seat next to me while the producers stood in a line in front of us.

"We want to make sure that you embrace this role." He continued. "I'm guessing that neither of you are lesbians, and I right in that?"

"Right." I said, and Sam nodded.

"Well, this show is going to have a lot of heavy story lines involving gays, transgenders, foster kids...we're gonna try to leave no issue untouched."

"And we want zero negativity." Peter picked up for him. "Will both of you be able to accept all of these storylines? Especially the ones involving Stef and Lena."

"Of course." Sam replied.

"Yes. I already accept all of those things with my whole heart." I said.
Sherri began to walk over.
"And plus," I continued, "I'll play a lesbian with that woman any day!"

Sherri and the producers laughed upon hearing me, and I winked at Sherri.

"Well good!" Exclaimed Joanna.

I already felt like I had an in with the producers and that they liked me more than Sam. But I didn't want to be too cocky or jinx myself.

"Sherri? Ready to start the chemistry reads?" Joanna continued, looking at Sherri.

"Yes." She smiled.

We walked into a large room that looked almost like an auditorium.

"This is our rehearsal room. Table reads will take place in that room over there." Brad said, pointing to a room that was connected to the one we were in. "Lots of character work happens in here."

"This is where I was cast!" Sherri whispered while smiling to me.

I smiled back and touched her arm in a friendly way. It was just another excuse to make contact with her. I loved doing it. It made me feel good.

"So, we're gonna ask you, Teri, to step out while Sherri and Sam do their chemistry read." Peter said.

"No problem." I nodded.

"We'll call you back in a few." He finished.

-------------
Teri

I could barley hear the audition going on.
As I sat outside the auditorium, I couldn't help but wonder,

"Is Sherri liking Sam more than me?"
"Is Sam reading Stef better than me?"
"What can I do to be better than her?"

And last but certainly not least, I thought about how excited I was for the chemistry read.

I might get to...kiss...Sherri.
