Happy New Year guys! I was supposed to finish this today but that didn't work out so ya'll can have half of this today and the other half [hopefully] tomorrow?
Annabeth ducked under another snowball. The Hermes cabin had initiated a snowball fight by insulting the Ares Cabin. And now, even after hours, neither of the cabins seemed ready to back down. Her cabin had joined in too, creating a three-way war.
Camp Half-Blood had become its own winter wonderland. Younger campers were making snowmen and snow angels while older ones were engaged with the snowballs, fireworks or decorating.
Underneath the wall, they had neat stacks of snowballs, arranged by size. Some were the usual size, meant for long range, while some were triple or quadruple the size, meant for maximum damage.
'Malcom, hold fort here, I'll be back in a while.' Her second in command nodded as she jogged towards the cabins.

Percy glided across the frozen lake, his skates slicing through the ice. The wind was cold on his face, but he didn't mind, relishing in the feeling.
Years ago, his mom had taken him ice skating for the first time. He was clumsy, falling every minute, but his mom would just smile at him. She would hold out her hand and lift him up, and guide him on how to not trip over his own feet, how to balance himself.
She would slide across the ice like she'd been doing it her whole life (which she probably had). Ice skating was one relief in her life, one of her only sources of happiness growing up.
He spun in a lazy circle, hands in his pockets, eyes drifting towards the younger kids. He weaved between the campers to reach a few of them who'd fallen into a pile.
'Careful now,' he warned 'don't want injuries now do we?'
Once they were all back on their feet, he guided them on balancing and stopping. He wished them luck before picking up speed. He ran across the lake with grace that would have made Zeus jealous (and Jason too possibly, but that guy could have had two left feet).
He skidded to a stop near the shore, ice spraying into the air.
Annabeth stood unamused, rolling her eyes at him.
'What's the matter, wise girl? Tired of plotting against Clarisse already?'
'No, I was looking for Piper. She told me she was helping out with the cabin decorations but I couldn't find her.'
Percy frowned. 'Cabin decorations? But she was on the ice a few minutes ago. Gimme a minute.'
His eyes scanned the lake. 'Bingo,' he muttered. 'Hey Pipes!'
A figure in a green puffy jacket looked around for a second before she lost balance and fell with a thud. 'JACKSON!'
'Sorry! Annabeth needs you!'
A minute later Piper had joined them at the edge.
'Finally!' Annabeth said. 'How's the cabin decor going?'
'Pretty good. As mean as Drew can be, she's good at planning the decorating and colors. Even if she refused to do any of the work herself. We were finishing up with the big house by the time I came here.'
Annabeth hummed. 'So Drew's doing the main decorating right now?' At Piper's nod she continued. 'Ok I'm going to go talk to her.'
