It was a quiet evening at Heeseung's house, the kind of peace that felt rare after the whirlwind their lives had been lately. Jake was sitting cross-legged on Heeseung's living room couch, his head tilted back as he laughed at something Heeseung said.

Heeseung, sitting next to him, was leaning forward, fiddling with something in his hands. Jake didn't notice—he was too busy talking about how their friends were probably plotting chaos at that very moment.

Heeseung cleared his throat, cutting Jake off mid-ramble. "Jake..."

Jake blinked at him, tilting his head. "What?"

Heeseung took a deep breath, his fingers tightening around the small velvet box in his hands. "There's something I need to say."

Jake straightened up, his smile fading into a look of concern. "Heeseung, are you okay? What's going on?"

Heeseung exhaled slowly. "I've been thinking about this for a while now. Jake, you've been my constant, my anchor, even when I didn't deserve it. And I don't want to waste another second not telling you how much you mean to me."

Jake's breath caught in his throat as Heeseung slid off the couch, kneeling on one knee in front of him.

"Oh my god," Jake whispered, his hands flying to his mouth.

Heeseung opened the box, revealing a sleek silver band that caught the soft light of the room. "Sim Jaeyun, will you marry me?"

For a moment, Jake was too stunned to respond. He stared at Heeseung, tears already welling up in his eyes.

Before he could answer, a loud THUD came from the hallway, making them both jump.

"What the—" Heeseung started, quickly standing up.

The door to the hallway burst open, and there stood Sunoo, holding up his phone as he tried to balance himself. "Fuck you, Jay hyung! You said the floor wasn't slippery!"

Behind him, Jay rolled his eyes, muttering, "You're the one who wanted to record them!"

Jake and Heeseung exchanged wide-eyed looks as Sunoo finally noticed the scene in front of him. His mouth dropped open, and his phone nearly fell from his hand.

"Wait—were you guys—oh my god!" Sunoo shrieked, pointing at the ring in Heeseung's hand.

"Sunoo!" Heeseung groaned, shoving the ring box back into his pocket.

"Wait, wait, wait!" Sunghoon popped his head in next, followed closely by Jungwon, who was grinning from ear to ear.

"I knew this would happen!" Jungwon announced triumphantly, nudging Sunghoon.

"You guys are the worst," Jake muttered, his face bright red as he buried it in his hands.

"Oh, please," Sunoo said, pulling himself up onto his feet. "This is golden content."

"Content?!" Heeseung snapped, reaching out to snatch Sunoo's phone.

"Relax, hyung," Sunoo said, holding his phone out of reach. "I wouldn't actually post it. Well...maybe if you paid me not to—ow!" he yelped as Jungwon elbowed him in the ribs.

Jake groaned, looking at Heeseung. "Should we just...try again later?"

But Heeseung shook his head, a small smile tugging at his lips. "No. This is exactly the chaos I expected from our friends."

"Wait—did he say marry?" Sunghoon asked, his eyes widening as he processed the scene.

"They're engaged?!" Jungwon gasped dramatically, looking between Jake and Heeseung.

"Well, I didn't say yes yet!" Jake protested, glaring at the group.

"Then say it!" Sunoo demanded, waving his phone.

Jake looked back at Heeseung, who was still holding the ring box in his pocket. With a soft laugh, Jake stood up, stepping closer to Heeseung. "Yes," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "Of course, yes."

Sunoo let out an ear-splitting cheer, nearly knocking over Jungwon in his excitement. "This is the best day of my life!"

Jay walked in at that moment, raising an eyebrow at the scene. "What did I miss?"

"Jake's officially a mom now," Sunghoon said with a smirk, earning a glare from Jake.

Before Jake could retort, the front door opened, and Riki walked in, kicking off his shoes. "What's going on?"

The room fell silent for a moment before Sunoo, unable to contain himself, blurted out, "They're engaged!"

Riki froze, his wide eyes darting between Jake and Heeseung. Slowly, the biggest grin spread across his face. He practically launched himself at Heeseung, wrapping his arms around him.

"I knew it!" Riki shouted, bouncing up and down. "I knew you two couldn't stay away from each other!"

"Does this mean Jake hyung is now my mom?" Riki asked, his eyes sparkling. "Is he moving in? Are you guys getting married tomorrow? Can I help pick the theme—"

"Riki, breathe," Heeseung interrupted, shaking his head fondly.

Jake smirked, crossing his arms. "You're such a fake emo. You're still a kid."

Riki shot him the most unamused glare imaginable. "I'm not a kid!"

"Sure, sure," Jake teased, ruffling his hair.

Despite the chaos, there was a warmth in the air, a sense of everything finally falling into place. And as Jake caught Heeseung's eye, he knew this was exactly where he was meant to be.
