High in the mountains of Mongolia, among the icy ridges of Khüiten Peak, a ruined hideout stood buried beneath the snow. Inside, flickering candlelight illuminated the shattered remnants of a once-grand hall.
A man sat alone on a worn leather sofa, swirling a glass of red wine as the sound of a news broadcast echoed faintly through an old television. On the screen, Rin Nanase spoke confidently at a press conference, addressing the aftermath of the Yubiwa’s downfall.
“…At Nanase Corporation, we do everything possible to ensure the right people work with us. Unfortunately, our systems were compromised. But I can assure you, after that night, the RCMP are actively tracking everyone connected to the Yubiwa.”
The man’s eyes narrowed. The glass trembled slightly in his hand as he took a slow sip, his gaze fixed on Rin’s face.
“So…” he muttered. “The Yubiwa have been exposed. And Kevin Wei is dead.”
He leaned back into the sofa, letting out a low, bitter laugh.
“It’s so unlike you… to betray your own.”
As the firelight danced across his face, his identity came into view — Arban, draped in an orange robe. The left side of his face was horribly scarred, the skin warped and blackened from the explosion Rin had caused that night.
Raising his glass once more, he smiled darkly.
“The Yubiwa may be compromised,” he said, his voice low and venomous. “But I will find you, Dark Knight…” He paused, his lips curling into a cruel grin.
“…or should I say—Rin Nanase. Traitor of Yubiwa.”
The wine glass touched his lips one final time.
