Charlie and Vaggie stood near the hallway, watching as Sir Pentious exited the room where he had just completed his first therapy session with Zack. Charlie had her fist clenched with enthusiasm, her face radiating optimism that only the Princess of Hell could pull off. Beside her, Vaggie stood with her arms crossed, her expression unreadable.
Sir Pentious slithered past them, a look of disdain towards the two ladies who confiscated his weapons and have been depriving him of villainy and domination. Though he wasn't forced to stay here and was welcomed to leave at any time. Still, Pentious wasn't one to give up, even with the odds stacked against him with the withholding of his tools and the hostility from some of the hotel's residents.
"I have done as you asked," He announced, his voice dripping with theatrical pride. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I shall be returning to my quarters. I have... inventions to tinker with for the betterment of Hell's denizens!" He waved a claw dramatically before continuing on his way.
One of the Egg Boiz piped up eagerly. "Are you sure we can't finish the Skin Flayer 11,000, Boss?"
"That is on a temporary hiatus." He snapped as his tail flicked dismissively.
All four Egg Boiz groaned in unison. "Awwww."
Charlie smiled brightly. "Don't forget to join us in the lobby at three, Sir Pentious!"
He paused briefly, his hood twitching, before vanishing around the corner without another word.
Charlie turned to Vaggie. "Do you think it went well?"
Vaggie shrugged, her tone dry. "If the human is still alive in there, then maybe."
Charlie's eyes widened for a moment, then shifted as Zack emerged from the same room moments later, his notebook tucked under his arm.
"How did it go?" Charlie asked, practically bouncing up to him. "Did it go well?"
Zack closed the door behind him, adjusting his grip on the notebook. "Very well, actually."
Charlie pumped her fist in triumph. "Yes! I knew this would work! I just knew it!"
Vaggie raised an eye brow. "Really?" She would ask, remaining skeptic. "You actually managed to get through to him?"
"Yeah." Zack would confirm with a nod. "He's a bit reluctant in some areas, but I think with time, more sessions and a solid support group, we could make some real progress."
Charlie's grin widened as she turned to Vaggie. "See? Sir Pentious has potential!"
Her girlfriend folded her arms tighter, her tone matching her expression. "As long as he doesn't try to take over the city, blow up the hotel or smuggle in his weird steampunk bullshit like he did a few days ago."
Charlie waved it off. "He hasn't tried anything so far."
"Yet." Vaggie muttered. She would ensure Pentious behaved. Threatening taking his Egg Boiz away seemed to keep the demon cobra snake in check. It was pathetic watching him turn into a bumbling mess at the mere mention of separating him from his sentient egg lackeys. Only reason why she didn't get rid of them all together was because Zack intervened, seeing that those talking egg heads were more like emotional support animals rather than goons. She rolled her eyes at that, but Zack would say as long as he stays true to his word, they will let him keep his eggs.
"Do you have anyone else lined up for me?" Zack would ask, glancing between them.
Charlie hesitated as she sheepishly looks away. "Oh uh, we're trying to get Angel to agree to another session, but he's been a tad bit, uh..."
