Chapter 25

"I'll take the consequence." Frigus said firmly while kneeling in front of the King.

Nasa living room sila ng Benjamin Palace. Nandoon ang ibang mga Benjamin, nakikichismis. Kalat na sigurong pinapatawag siya ng King dahil pinagsarhan niya ito ng pinto sa mukha.

"No. It was Jayce' s fault for interfering with your marriage. Hindi na dapat siya nakikisali." The Queen glared at the King. Hinawakan ng Queen ang balikat niya para iangat siya pero hindi siya nagpatinag.

"I still disrespect the King. And I mean it. I was furious, I don't want anyone to give ideas to my wife to leave me." Frigus said coldly.

"Nag-beg nga 'yan. Downfall malala." Spade commented.

"Paanong beg?" Heased asked.

"Tanong natin kay Cham."

"You seem to love your wife so much but she doesn't love you. Am I right?" The King asked coldly.

He just clenched his jaw. He can feel it, Cham felt something for her hindi lang nito masabi dahil natatakot pa ito. And it is understandable because he broke her trust. Ang gago-gago niya dati.

"Hindi mo naman pinilit ang babae na matali sa 'yo? Or maybe you manipulate her to make her agree marrying you." The Queen asked.

"It's so obvious when we met Chameron, my queen. She's not into Frigus." The King said.

Tila suntok 'yon sa dibdib niya. The King is very observant. Matalino ito at para sabihin nitong hindi talaga siya mahal ni Cham ay parang matitigil na niya ang pang-ga-gaslight sa sarili na mahal siya ng asawa. Pero hindi, eh. They just met Chameron 3 times. On the clinic, on the party and their wedding day. Anong alam nito sa loob ng bahay nila? Why are they concluding that Cham doesn't love him with that three meeting? Siya ang nakakaalam kasi sila ang palaging magkasama.

He held his chin up and stared at the King bravely. Napasipol ang mga pinsan niya sa tapang niya.

"She loves me." Mariing saad niya.

"What made you think that way? Or is it just your coping mechanism? To gaslight yourself that she's into you?" The King asked. At pakiramdam niya hindi naman talaga ito tanong. This is just to trigger him, to test his patience and anger.

He sighed calmly even though his blood is already boiling. He needs to see Chameron, he needs to see his sanity.

"I broke her trust that's why she's claiming she doesn't love me. Sinusuyo ko na ang asawa ko, magiging maayos na kami." He said with finality.

The King didn't seem convince though. He just shrugged.

"Stand up. I think I don't need to punish you. Your wife's not into you is already torture."

Lihim na kumuyom ang kamao niya. He stood up. Ganoon din ang mga pinsan at kapatid niya. Inakbayan siya ni Ace.

"Naalala mo dati, sabi mo ayaw mo talagang magmahal. Bakit nag-backfire? Ikaw ang hindi minahal?" Tanong ng kapatid.

He glared at Ace. He's not helping.

"Isipin mo, Frigus. Kung hindi ka Benjamin, sa tingin mo mapipilit mo ang isang Chameron Falcon na pakasalan ka?" Chase asked.

"Isipin mo, Chase. Kung Hindi ka Benjamin, sa tingin mo nakakahinga ka pa?" He asked sarcastically.

Nagtawanan ang ikatlong henerasyon ng Benjamin. They're all teasing him! Fuck it. Dati, hindi siya matukso-tukso maliban sa pagiging demonyo niya sa pinanggagawa niya biglang Attorney. But now that they found out his Achilles' heel, hindi na siya tinigilan.
