"God what is up with you today?" Patrick snapped. "This is the second day on the case and you're already being bitchy. All I asked was for you to turn the tv down a bit and you're acting like I just kicked your puppy." Pete was speechless, Patrick had gone off the wall.
"There's been this weird 'aroma' coming off of you today, like I did something wrong and now you're pissed at me for it. Is it too much to ask for you to not be an asshole for at least one day?" Patrick was up and out of the desk chair. Pete scoffed and rolled his eyes. He was laying on the bed with his back against the headboard and arms crossed on his chest while the irritated Patrick was standing on the other side of the room.
"I'm being the asshole? Maybe you should check your intuition because you're the one who's biting my head off since I didn't turn the volume down right away."
"I can't believe that out of everyone that I could have been assigned to work with on this, it was you." Patrick was walking around in slow circles now, occasionally looking at Pete and waving his hands towards him.
"Well I didn't even do anything wrong, so that makes me feel awesome, thanks." Pete wasn't even really that angry, just annoyed and unbelieving. What was Patrick's deal?
"You've been a dick to me multiple times and I just can't stand it."
"Oh really? Name one time in the approximate 4 days that we've known each other where I was a dick to you." Pete smirked to himself, he knew he was going to win the argument.
"Almost every time we talk you're teasing me for one thing or another and I'm sick of it." Patrick tapped his foot impatiently and Pete almost sprung up from the bed at his partner's response.
"Are you being serious? I told you I'm a teaser and I apologized for it. And actually, I haven't said anything to you like that after you told me you were offended by it so I don't see why I'm the bad guy here." Patrick was quiet and Pete gave him his time to think over what ever excuse he was going to use next.
"You don't get it. I'm-"
"Just picking a fight with me because you don't like me?" Pete cut him off. "None of this is really necessary you know."
Patrick rolled his eyes and stormed off to the bathroom. He felt obnoxiously like a 5 year old, but he couldn't stand the argument anymore, not because he knew he was loosing or anything.
Patrick took a minute to breathe and recollect himself, then stripped down for a long, cold shower. He spent most of his time procrastinating getting out because he didn't want to face Pete again, but Patrick knew he couldn't lock himself in the bathroom all night and avoid his partner forever.
When he finally climbed out and got dried off, Patrick walked out into the main room and found it empty. He breathed a sigh of relief and began to get changed. Although he felt better that Pete was gone, a little voice in the back of his head made him worry. Where had he gone? When will he be back?
Patrick couldn't believe how quickly the argument escalated and how quickly it was over with. They were fine all day, until bam, voices were being raised and insults were being thrown. He realized he was incredibly wrong and that something got the best of him, but he wasn't ready to apologize yet. One, because he was stubborn and hated admitting he was wrong, and two, he had no idea where Pete was and he didn't even have his phone number. Patrick felt like complete shit. The mission was going great.

When Patrick woke up the next morning, he heard an alarm going off that he didn't remember setting and the sound of water coming from the bathroom. It was still dim outside, sparking Patrick's confusion.
