"Mr. Stump, do you recall what happened on September 30th, 2013?"

Patrick hesitated. "Was that the day My partner and I got suspended from our positions at the CIA?"

"Yes, it was."

"Then yes, I do remember."

"And what did you do after that event?"

"I stayed at home and tried to keep my mind off of the fact that I just most likely lost my dream job."

"And after that?"

"I. . .I kept researching on the case, I just couldn't let something like that go all of the sudden. . .I made a breakthrough and I decided I wanted to go to Japan and try and get some help to bust them."

Dr. Augustine's lawyer walked around with his hands behind his back. He stopped in front of the stand.

"So you went to Japan. With Pete."

"Well I didn't intend on going with Pete, you see my best friend-"

"Yes or no, Mr. Stump?"

Patrick glared at him. "Yes."

"So you went to Japan, went to the Osaka Police Department, and asked them for help with the mission, is that right?"

"Yes." Patrick cut his eyes over to Pete who was scribbling something intensely at the table. He didn't have time to think about what it may have been for.

"And did you give anyone any, papers with any information on them?"

"Yes."

"And what kind of information was on them?"

Patrick squared his shoulders. "That is confidential sir, I cannot reveal it."

"So you admit to the given information being confidential?"

"Yes, but it was only seen by the sheriff."

"But how do you know it was not shared with anyone else?"

"He knew it was confidential, sir, he wouldn't-"

"I did not ask what he would or would not do, Mr. Stump."

Patrick tensed up. He could see Pete getting irritated with the lawyer as he continued his scribbling.

"Was this your sole decision? Did anyone else give you the idea to do this? . . .Was the action in any way connected to your sexual relationship with Mr. Wentz?"

"Objection!" Pete shouted, standing up from his chair. The sudden exclamation made Patrick's heart race even faster. "Relevance?"

"Sustained," The judge spoke. "Mr. Dumar, I recommend you ask more, appropriate questions to the case at hand."

"Yes, your honor, I apologize." He turned back to Patrick. "Do you need me to repeat my former questions?"

"No. And the answer is no, it was only my idea."

"No further questions, your honor."

Patrick stepped down and walked back to the table where Pete sat, quickly gazing over a paper filled with his sloppy handwriting.

Pete spoke. "I would like to call Dr. Clara Augustine to the stand."

Once she was seated, Pete walked up in the same fashion that the other lawyer had. "Dr. Augustine, what made you suspicious of the spreading of confidential information by Mr. Stump?"
