I didn't like the idea of Trent being after Corvina one bit. The thought made my skin crawl. I knew that her life would be put on the line if she spared mine. But I hadn't realized just how severe her punishment would be. In all honesty, I still didn't know what Trent was capable of but if Corvina was wary of him, he must have a quality.

"Where is he?" Tariq asked, cutting through my train of thought. I blinked away my worry and focused on my friend who crossed the length of the living room to peer into Lilian's laptop.

"The GPS shows that he is in a...dump?" Lilian tilted her head to the side, her pink eyebrows furrowing. Trish snorted, crossing his arms over his chest.

"That sounds about right." He murmured, earning a chuckle from Jace. I blinked at my best friend who glanced at me briefly before his expression hardened.

"Is there a dump yard near your office?" She regarded Tariq, who stared pointedly at the laptop, not meeting her eyes.

"Yes. A few miles from the Encore building." He responded, his complexion turning pale. I stepped forward to take a look at the screen myself. A red dot blinked in the centre of the map and perhaps, that was Eman's location currently. My stomach turned again.

A voice in my head sneered at me, telling me how it was my fault that Eman was in this predicament and how my friends would never forgive me for putting her in danger.

"Eman might not be with Trent." Corvina spoke up, making everyone glance at her. She swallowed roughly before she continued, "He might have taken her somewhere else and then changed his location so we can't get to her." She explained.

"But it could also be the case that Eman is with him. This is a foreign city and I don't think even the Hades has enough resources to execute a perfect kidnapping and murd-" Lily stopped abruplty when Tariq cut her a burning glare.

"That is a risk we have to take," Corvina said. "We can't leave Eman in Trent's possession for too long. It's already been twenty-four hours. The more we wait, the more impatient the Hades will get." She pursed her lips as she turned to Trish. "Get to the hotel and bring our gear. Lily, keep tracking Trent. Inform me if there is any movement on his end. And the rest of you stay here. Don't let anyone in or out until we come back." She looked around the room.

"I am coming with you." Ahvi stood up from where she was sitting beside Jace on the couch.

"The hell you are!" Ren snapped, glaring at his sister. "Sit down, Vi." He added when she merely rolled her eyes at his protective tone.

"My brother likes to be dramatic about my safety." She flicked her hair out of her face, taking a step toward Corvina's crew. "I will come with you as backup."

"We are trained assassins, sweetheart." Trish crooned, eyeing Ahvi with an interest I couldn't quite put a finger on. It wasn't like he could be interested in her romantically.

"I have had my fair share of training. And I have kept up with self-defence and martial arts since last year." Vi responded, shooting the man a disinterested look. "Trust me, I can be an asset." She fixed her determined stare on Corvina again.

"Harley, no." Jace shook his head, pushing himself off the couch and turning her to face him. "There's no chance in Hell I am letting you go with them. We've been over this before. Your safety is a priority. And I won't risk it for the world." He cupped her cheeks when Ahvi tried to shrug him off. I knew when my little sister wanted to do something, she listened to no one.

"He's right, Ahvi. You're not going anywhere." Tariq straightened, fixing her with a look which none of us could ever say no to. Except for Eman Hashim, who could turn the man into putty just by a flutter of her eyelashes. But she wasn't here. "And if they require backup, I will be with them." He added.
