I woke up to a door being closed quietly. I bolted up and looked around the dark room. I couldn't see anything.
"H-hello?" I managed to stutter out. No one said anything but I heard footsteps. I got up on my good leg and looked around.
"Shh." The whispered as they put their hand over my mouth. I closed my eyes shut as tight as possible, "Don't freak out. It's me." My eyes snapped open. That sounded like Travis. Slowly he took his hand off my mouth.
"T-Travis?" I whispered and looked around the dark room.
"I'm gonna help you. I just need you to do everything I say okay?"
"I- I can't trust you." I stuttered out and tried to back away from him.
"Please don't say that. You don't understand Missy. Hammer he's he's my dad! I...I'm so sorry. Let me help you. Please I promise you won't regret it." Slowly I started to cry. Just a few tears but I didn't know what to do. I was going to die if I didn't do anything because it was obvious that dad hadn't been able to find me. I didn't want to die. I had so many things that I wanted to do with my life. But Travis was the reason I was here. He was the reason that I wasn't at my house with my family. This was his faul- No, not this was all Hammer. Crazy fucking hammer. But what if Travis has only become my friend in the first place because of Hammer? But he became my friend before anyone knew. No one knew, not even Hammer. Dad made sure it was all a secret. I was at a crossroads. Travis had been my friend from the beginning. But I didn't know if I could trust him the way I wanted to. Though either way I would die. If I got his help maybe I could convince him to just kill me if things hit rock bottom and there was no way out. I sighed.
"I...Travis you have to promise me right now that if something happens and there no way out I don't care how you do it, but I'm serious when I say kill me."
"No I-"
"Listen. I would much rather die by your hands then Hammers. If we have no way out, if you're lying, whatever the case may be at the end. I need you to promise me that you will kill me. Quick and painless."
Though I couldn't see him I knew his face was pained. I knew he was conflicted. Just as conflicted if not more than I was. Than again that was understandable. I hated to ask him that. I hated it so much, but I didn't know what else to do.
"I- Okay. Okay Fine I promise. But I promise you that I'll do whatever it takes to get you out of here. I swear to god, to jesus, to- to- on everything that I will till my dying breath get you out of this mess that I made." He whispered. I turned around as he pulled me into a hug. He gripped me tight as I felt the tears fall onto my dirty shoulder. I swallowed hard as I closed my eyes and took a jagged breath. Everything hurt and I was pretty sure that every wound on my body was infected.
"We need to go. Please can we go?" I asked.
"Not yet. But I have a plan. I need you to listen carefully." He helped me sit down and he sat down infront of me and began his long plan.
-TONY'S POINT OF VIEW-
"GOD DAMMIT!" I screamed and slammed my hands on the table. Nothing. We had no leads, no nothing. A fucking anchor? How the hell was that supposed to help?
"Tony calm down. You need to understand that this is-"
I cut Steve off, "Every second we waste she could be getting hurt. She could be dead already because of that damned riddle! Why couldn't someone just give me a fucking adre- That's it." A lightbulb went off in my head. I don't know why none of of thought of this before. That was an address.
"What are you thinking Tony?" Fury asked. By now everyone was wide awake all waiting for me to say something. Though the bags were clearly under all their eyes, finding Marissa was more important than sleep.
"That was an address. Well not specifically. But still! Why would someone give us a riddle about an anchor? Where are anchors? Anchors are by the water. Anchors are on boats! An anchor is the key to where she is."
"But there are thousands of boats and and anchors around here! We're on an island. But how many boats are there that stay here? Yeah alot pass around, but how many actually stay here?"
"Well the ones by the dock by the abandoned anch- Son of a bitch." Clint said, "The abandoned anchor shop."
"What are we waiting for?" Thors booming voice spoke.
"Suit up!" Fury yelled. I ran to the other room and suited up.
We were off and on our way before Jarvis could ask me where I wanted to go. I had to get there. We had to save her.
