Chapter 2.6

Nathan's POV

Something is not right. I am so sure of that.

I haven't seen Kuya Zet since he went at our house, and it was like 3 weeks already.

She's been out early in the morning and usually goes home around midnight.

She looks devastated.

Ampanget tignan. Really.

"Dad, ako na lang susundo kay Lola bukas. Wala naman akong gagawin eh." I told Dad while we're having breakfast.

Pasimple kong tinignan si Ate if she'll say something, but wala. She's just quietly eating rather playing with her food. Dati-rati may pang-asar agad siya.

Just right after my Dad took a sip of his morning coffee he said, "The day after tomorrow will be your marriage announcement." Dad and I exchanged knowing looks, then we all turned our attention to Ate, including the maids.

Her reaction was far from our expected hyperactive scream.

She just gave us a simple nod.

I wanted to ask if she's okay, but it was obvious that she isn't.

"Are you having marriage blues?" my father suddeny asked.

"Maybe," she answered back and finished her orange juice. "I'm going," she said and gave us kiss in the cheek.

When I was sure she was out of the house. I hurried to my Dad's side. "All soon to be married couples are going through the rough stage. Just let them be," he informed me.

"Right," I said and went back to my chair.

He exactly knows that I will interfere with Ate and Kuya Zet.

Psh.

"Lola, how long will it take?"

"Nathan, can't you just sit there and plug your earphones?"

"Lola, I've been doing that for almost an hour! Ano ba kasing meron dito?"

"My Filipiniana for the wedding announcement of your Ate."

Keep your mouth shut, Nathan!

Keep it shut!

Keep it!

Keep.

Must keep.

"Lola ang ganda niya, sino siya?" bulong ko kay Lola.

"Hi Tita! Sorry po na-late ako ah. I just got out of the plane," the beautiful lady said while giving my Lola a greeting.

"It's okay iha. Sorry to trouble you ha?"

"Naku poo Tita. It's nothing. Kayo pa ba!" she ssaid with such an angelic smile. "Oh wait, eto na po pala yung dress."

"Thank you iha. Just send my regards to your Mom. We'll go ahead. Don't forget the about the party iha."

"Sure thing. Take care Tita. I'll see you soon."

"Thank you Shana."

Saab's POV

Ang babae lalong gumaganda kapag masaya. Ako? Maganda lang. I feel wasted.

It's my, rather OUR engagement party and yet, we are in a cold war.

WE don't need to talk to know that we are not okay.

WE just fell into a cold war.

Ganun naman kami magkatampuhan ni Bogs. No words needed. We don't do word war. WE will just feel that something's wrong and BOOM bigla na lang kaming di mag-uusap.

Lalo na in time like this.

How could we face all the people downstairs as a couple?

How could I face everyone kung biglang sumpungin si Bogs ng kasupladuhan niya?

He's hotel room is just next door and yet di kami nagkita. It's been almost 4 weeks that we are not seeing each other.

Every night, I type a message only to find myself erasing everything.

This is hard.

I do not know what went wrong.

And heck! What does he mean when he said...

"Relationships are not just about girls, whom shall be treated like a princess or a queen."

What does he tries to implicate?

He was leaning on the wall beside me.

"You look beautiful, as always." The first words after almost 4 freakin' weeks.

"You're gorgeous as hell, Sebastian."

He just smiled and then it fell silent again.

The silence was killing.

True, that it is possible to stay in silence for long with someone you're comfortable with. That's because you could exchange conversations through your eyes.

It was long bago siya lumapit sa akin. Umupo siya sa harap ko. I took the chance to cup his face. Sht. I was dying to do this. Slowly hinawakan niya yung kamay ko.

Hindi ko na napigilan pa. I hugged him tight.

"Namiss kita," I mumbled as I buried my face on his neck.

"I see. You still haven't found out. Pero dahil miss na miss kita payakap muna ng matagal na matagal."

"What should I find out?"

"Its for you to find out and its for me to wait till you do."

"Bu---"

"Ssshhh. Let's just enjoy the night for the mean time."

Seriuosly, kinakabahan ako kay Bogs. It is so not him to beat around the bush. He's impatient, so he just talks everything out.

I still can't enjoy the party kahit na kaholding hands ko si Bogs, kahit na nasa tabi ko siya, kahit na sweet kami, kahit na kasama ko siya. Alam kong may wall between us. And, only I can break it. Kasi wala siyang balak tibagin yun.

I really didn't gave a fck at the party. It was just a party to let everyone know about our wedding. It's more of a part for them, not us.

To: Nathan

Dad seems so busy, just tell him that I'm with Bogs. I'll be home later.

From: Nathan

Hope you two go back to normal. Love you Ate. You look like a princess earlier.

I put my phone off when I read his message. Halata naman kasing di kami okay eh.

It's almost 2 am in the morning kaya walang traffic. Nilabas niya yung bote ng alak from the paperbag. He spread out everything sa papag kung saan ako nakaupo.

Ang ganda ng view. Metro Manila at this hour is simply captivating.

Hinubad niya yung coat niya at tinaggal yung tie niya. He even opened three buttons of his polo. Ako naman nakaupo lang sa papag and stared at my killer heels.
