A few hours later, when all the boys were awake and dressed and stuff, we all gathered in my room for the arm wrestling tournament. By "tournament" I mean I arm wrestle each one of the boys.
"Okay, I think Trixie should wrestle us in order from weakest to strongest." Tristan was taking charge. I just avoided eye contact with him.
"Well, obviously, James should go last.""
"Who goes first?" Brad looked scared, remembering when I pinned him, probably.
"Looks like you guys will have to arm wrestle first, and then we'll know." I smirked for absolutely no reason. First Brad and Connor went. Connor won. Then, him and Tristan went. I think Connor was using a bit too much force on Tristan, considering how hard Tristan's hand hit the table. Then it was Brad and Tristan. Tristan won that one, so I was going against Brad, then Tristan, then Connor, then James. Brad looked at me, determination on his face but hesitation in his eyes.
"Are you really scared of a girl, Bradley?" I taunted him.
"Ha, you wish."
"Okay, I want a clean, fair fight. Got it?" James was looking at me like he was expecting me to cheat. I stuck my tongue out at him, then returned my gaze to Brad.
"Ready, set, fight!" Immediately, Brad put force on my arm. I did the same, and Brad's arm lowered quite quickly. I won almost right away with a victorious look on my face. That look ended immediately when Tristan put his elbow on the table. I still felt really awkward around him. I reluctantly put my arm on the table again, linking my hand with his. He had a determined look, just like Brad, but there was a couple other emotions in there. Hurt, sadness, hope, triumph (probably because he was holding my hand), and another that I couldn't place.
"Ready, set, fight!"Tristan was a little harder than Brad, but in the end, I still won. The second his hand touched the table, I loosened my grip on him and pulled my hand away. He looked a little more hurt than before, but hid it well.
"My turn!" Connor went up to the table.
"Actually, guys, can I take a break? My arm is kinda tired."
"What are we gonna do while we wait?" Connor pouted at me.
"Well, I don't know about you, but I'm gonna watch My Little Pony."
"Can I watch too?" Connor smiled at me.
"I thought you didn't like it."
"I never said that."
"So you do like it?"
"I never said that either!"
"Whatever. Yes, you can watch with me." He smiled like a little kid on Christmas morning.
"Me too!" Brad hopped on the bed, landing face down. I giggled at his position. Then James and Tristan joined him on the bed.
"I don't know. You'll probably think it's stupid."
"Why does Connor get to watch and we don't?" James pouted at me.
"Because he's already seen it."
"Oh, come on!!! Please?" Brad gave me his best puppy dog eyes, which I couldn't say no to.
"Fine!" I brought out my laptop and went on Netflix. I scrolled through the list until I found it and played the first episode. It took a moment, but we all got comfortable. Connor was to one side of me, and Tristan was on the other. Brad and James were sitting behind us. We watched the first episode, but I wasn't really paying attention, plus I had seen this episode to million times anyway. Mostly I was just thinking about how close Connor and Tristan were to me. Not only was it awkward, but it was also a really small space. I just toughed through it, playing songs in my head. When the episode was over, we all got up.
"That was actually pretty good." Tristan smiled at me.
"Yeah, I liked it." Brad was stretching his arms above his head.
"Me too,"James patted me on the head like I was a dog, "but now it's time for me to destroy you in arm wrestling."
"Not so fast, tough guy. Connor goes first." I set my arm down on the table and Connor did the same. I got a tingly feeling when we linked hands, but I ignored it because I wanted to win.
"And... Fight!" At first, Connor was winning, slowly pushing my hand towards the table. But then I just gave one burst of strength and his hand hit the table.
"Yes!" I did a little victory dance.
"Don't celebrate quite yet." James was smirking in my direction. I went steely eyed and put my arm back on the table. We linked hands (no tingly feeling), and this time Tristan did the referee thing.
"Ready, set, fight!" James immediately started pushing my hand down, but I wasn't giving up. I put all my strength into my arm, and to everyone's surprise, James' hand started going down to the table. Really, really slowly, but still. The strain on his face was real. When his hand was half an inch away from the table, he gave up. His hand fell to the table and I smiled victoriously.
"Next time, Promise."
